I love the dynamics of this story - notably how you do include the council. I look forward to seeing more :)

I very much enjoyed this view point of Buffy's woes. The Slayer having a strong advocate is very much the Council's greatest nightmare. It was also cool to see so much internal strife among them.

I can only imagine what happens to a poor watcher who mistakes a mutant for a demon. In some cases it would be tragic, but in others the glare and smack down after having holy water thrown in their faces would be epic.

Why was Buffy arguing against her needing karate lessons?
It was mentioned last chapter that she was interested in karate. It is what actually started the conversation where Emma mentioned she had an instructor employed at the school.

In this chapter it came across differently, as if Joyce was the first one to raise the idea when she spoke with Buffy.

Seems like a bit of an incongruity.
