Sakamoto Ryoma isn't only a "canon character in PMK", THEY took him from history. He's an actual person they based him on, not purely fictional.

And why did you name a character after yourself? For fic that uses characters named after their writers as the main character, it usually turns out to be a Sue.

I don't think I like this incarnation of Okita. The creators made PMK too much like Rurouni Kenshin, Okita it too much like Kenshin with only minimal differences. The other reason I can't get into PMK is Tetsu.
He was a real person too (shockingly, considering how he is; as a page then too), but Tetsu irritates me too much. Too whiny when he doesn't get his way.

I noticed your note about TB and I remembered that people didn't know that TB was a contagious disease until the 1880s, so they likely didn't realize they could get ill from being around Okita.

The Japs called Americans Yanks in 1864-5? People called them the USA when they were going through a Civil War of their own at this time?

Yay!I always wanted to see peacemaker's Okita meet Kenshin. I can't choose between them. I don't know which one I like the most. Anyway those 2 are the only anime characters I have turned into girls and cosplayed without counting another orange hair shinigami.
Well I haven't show anyone yet okita's female version... I will dress up as him/her in 9 days.

This was a beautiful and elegantly written story that I can pretty much guarantee I will reread many times in the future. :]

It's also refreshing to find an author who puts some of their time to research the time era of when their story takes place instead of going off assumptions and memory. (Saitou totally killed Tani and Takeda in my opinion...)
