The best word to describe this story is: EPIC. I’ve read a lot of fanfiction in my day. I always preferred long-form, multi chapter stories since I enjoy plot and character development. And wow, did you deliver on those two fronts.

Truly, this is one of the best stories I’ve ever read. And I’m not just talking about the realm of fanfiction but of “regular” fiction as well. There are so many highlights but I’ll try to condense them:

1. The pacing was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Not once did I feel like the story was lagging. The narrative between the two realms was perfectly balanced.
2. You did an amazing job of melding the genres of romance, action, adventure, drama and fantasy. I am seriously so impressed!
3. The nods to Japanese mythology were so interesting. The way you described the kami plane and it’s cast of characters was so immersive and detailed.
4. You totally respected the source material while also putting in your own twist. The way you fleshed out the side characters (Nabiki and Shampoo in particular) was so enriching.
In conclusion, thank you for contributing this amazing story to the fandom. You have incredible writing talents and I hope you’re proud of what you achieved.

Read this a few years ago. It was great.

Wow, I forgot how much this story made me really like Nabiki. It's not that I ever hated her, but this really made me feel like everything she does, no matter how devious, has always been for her family.

I thought I would give myself a little treat by rereading this story today. It's as good as I remember.

I first read this story years ago, back before it was complete. Reading it again with this first chapter, I remember what a great job you did setting up the stakes of this story because it's about the fact that there are consequences to both action and inaction.

This story... was utterly sensational, a beautiful bundle of love, action, friendship, angst, and everything a great story should have. Although it sounds hollow, I am sure that this was definitely one of the BEST fanfictions I've ever read. You took my breath away with your carefully constructed story plot, characters that reflected your research and knowledge you had about youkai's and Japanese culture, and an altogether unique, wonderful writing style. This story deserves so much more recognition. Please keep writing! :3

All hail to one of my favorite writers :) I have followed this story from the beginning and when you paused I haven't checked on it lately. It was a welcome surprise to find that you did complete the story. I miss reading it on your page with your beautiful pictures but the way you wove the characters our beautiful Takahashi sensei made was lovely. You stayed true to her creations and this has always been one of the stories I go back to with Living Life Anew and a lovely Sailor Moon story Soulmates by lady. Those have been my go tos for years and I have to say thank you for the late night reading and your faithfulness to our beloved Ranma and Akane :) take care and hopefully you write about them again sometime. We'll be waiting. From a long time fan :)

...I heard so many good things about this story that I just had to come and read it.
I don't know why it gets that much praise. I mean, sure the plot's kind of interesting, but every character is really OOC. I guess since this is so old that by the time it was written that was not that important.
At least it is really well written, so kudos on that.

This is not only one of the best fan fiction pieces to be written, it is also the best written work I have ever read. I don’t say this only because of my deep-seated love for Ranma 1/2 but also because of how well-written and gripping the entire story is from beginning to end. You capture each character, and their personal development, so well. I first read Hearts of Ice years ago when you were not finished, but you were close. It had been a long time since you updated, so I wasn’t sure if you would finish because you noted obstacles in your personal life. The story stopped just after its great tragedy, and there was an inkling of hope that it might be reversed. During this time, the death of a friend rocked my world. I didn’t want to finish reading it at that time because it wouldn’t be fair. Things like that don’t happen in life (which you touched on). Then, over a decade later, having the story stuck in my mind all along, I woke up in the night absolutely needing to know how it ended. I was ready for the outcome, no matter how heart breaking it may be. So I looked it up, and you had finished it! I sent myself on this emotional roller coaster all over again to finally read the beautiful and satisfying ending. You have a special talent for writing, and it has left me wondering if you have ever written any original works to be published. If you have, I certainly must read them.
