Uh, just an FYI, but you really should look back on the earlier chapters to see the age discrepancies.

You first had Lucy as a toddler when Fox is in his late teens, and now they're all of a sudden only 18 months apart? Also, I'm pretty sure Fox is 15 or 16 at this point, and Wolf was only a bit older? And lastly, you make a reference to Falco and Katt, but wasn't Falco in the academy with Fox already?

Just saying...LOTS of time and age discrepancies from the previous chapters...

I actually cracked up a bit when I read 'Apparently, a head holds more blood than a jug holds milk.' I thought it was funny, but that means I've read through 5 chapters of this re-write. Gonna be reading Chapter 6 when I can find the time.

I think i cryed a little in this chapter. With how emotional the funeral was. When we visited my grandmothers grave over 10 years after her death could not stop crying. I will always remember that day:(

Huh, I was expecting to get to say, "The butler did it." Mind you, Pigma was the second choice...I wonder if those two are related. Something to consider for the future, perhaps?

While I don't think that this specific anecdote will be as influential to future plots as, say, the chapter where Peppy dropped a grenade in the Fortuna base, there are a lot of tiny details that can be referenced easily, and that explain a lot of things. Fara's affinity for guns, the origin of the name Star Fox (obviously), what happened to Fara's mother, and one of the secrets behind Pigma's betrayal are only examples. Who says we've seen the last of that particular Star Liner, hm?

You know, I don't think that Peppy has too many happy memories so far. We have Vixy's death, James' near-death experience, the aparoids, a preview to Venom's first canon invasion, and now this. To be fair, of course, Star Fox isn't an uplifting series. There's a lot of unseen horror, for one thing. Why do I like this series again? Oh yeah, because it's awesome.

So yeah, little detail things probably the biggest thing I saw was that after Peppy was ambushed on the Liner, you said that Marie couldn't take a second bulkhead fall. At that point, she'd already suffered two. (Granted, you're right either way, but it does cut the drama a bit.)

You know, you complain a lot about not having "action". I can see why-you're good at it. Actually, this had more of a Star Wars: Rogue Squadron feel. Man, I love that game.

This gives a pretty good explanation of why the aparoids invaded Lylat while they give no reason in SF Assault. This also explains how Smartbomb were invented, this little red ball SO important in the series!

I'm looking forward to see more of this story. Peppy do act as a central character in the series, he's like one of the only witness of the old StarFox Team.

You can explain and write a lot of things in this story, like the first run of StarFox team to Venom, when James lost his life.

Wow...that was really deep. Two parts in that first chapter caused me to tear up a little. I'm glad you refered me to it. You haven't disappointed me yet.

Also, in your last message you mentioned playing video games with you son. That's very important. I remember playing video games with my dad when I was that age. It brought us closer. Continue to do that with your son. He'll remember and appreciate it just like me one day.

Well, I do have to say that this explains very well how/why Peppy did some things in his future life. And shows off his great tactical mind.

It also shows the reader that you're quite capable of doing absolutely giant battle scenes. While fighters are powerful enough on their own, there's nothing quite like the awesome power of a battleship. Hopefully we'll see that again somehow in a future bit of writing of yours.

Alright, I decided to read this one first before I got into any of your larger Relfections stories, mainly because my computer died and I have limited access between my mom's and dad's laptops. I've only read the first chapter, but, being a huge James McCloud fan as well as well-written angst fan, you have me hooked. I know the story's about Peppy, but this first chapter completely embodies James's unbearable pain and really made me feel like kicking something once I was done reading it. Fantastic job. I'll read the rest when I find time.

Well I'll be...you finally updated this fic. As usual, it's a great blend of things that happened more or less in the official canon (the Aparoid incident), and things that have already happened in other fics (the entire Fortuna base). Perfect flashback material.

As always, a great mix of action, detail, and character interaction/thoughts. Makes for an entertaining read.
