SherlockHercules chapter 16 . 8/18/2017
One of the sweetest, beautiful and excellently written stories I have ever read. Thank you for providing it.
The-Right-Girl chapter 16 . 12/21/2015
I always love re-reading your (to generalize the writers) series of Sherlock and Helen-I've lost count how many times I've delved into this world!
The characters are wonderfully written, even with flaws! I am so glad I found such capable writers for Sherlock fan fiction, and I will wait eagerly, yet also understandably, for the next fantastic story to come out-or simply continue re-reading what has been published!
I know life too often makes things in general hard to find time to do such things, especially when mentioned things are not the essentials.
Write on!

This review is a bit of a criticism, though I hope I can express it nicely enough not to offend you.
I was enjoying the series very much until this chapter; I like how you showed Holmes’ deepening relationship with Helen while keeping him very much in character, and the mystery arcs were well-written.
But in this chapter, I was surprised and disappointed that you found it necessary to have Holmes and Helen take it “all the way” into bed. Due to this scene, I will not be adding this installment of the series to my Favorites, as I probably would have otherwise. That kind of thing is somewhat to be expected when reading Twilight fanfiction, but not so much Sherlock Holmes. And while I realize some people can find it in the most innocent of stories, your writing hadn’t indicated that you were heading in that direction. Perhaps the unexpectedness of it made it worse; it seemed out of character, not so much for Holmes (who is, after all, a man), but for your story.
That being said (and to end on a positive note), I’ve really enjoyed this series and hope you get to write the next installment soon.

I very much have enjoyed your fic of Sherlock and Helen. I picture Brett as Holmes one hundred percent in this. I wish you would have continued onto the third story, but sometimes real life gets in the way of fic and it doesn't happen. Kudos to you.
Guest chapter 16 . 1/4/2014
Despite the fact that I have quite a few quibbles with the depictions of Victorian-era manners, I did really enjoy all your stories. I've read a lot of SH fanfic, but I don't think I've ever read any quite like these before!

I'm sorry that you abandoned the series, but thank you for finishing the stories that were published.

Are you guys gone forever? I'd love to read more and to have access to the Yahoo Group as well.
Guest chapter 16 . 11/21/2013
Its almost been four year since I first read your series, I still feel the pull of it even though I have read it more than 3 time and each time i reread it I sill feel amazed at the story you have created. You and L-Fire have brought Holmes to life. I also loved Helen and your other OCs.
I hope you continue with the story soon the wait is almost unbearable especially with your ending, meanwhile I'm just going to reread it again just to refresh my memory and drool over Sherlock...
LMC chapter 16 . 7/14/2013
Have you really abandoned this series? What a shame!

It was great! Please UPDATE!
gilzgal chapter 16 . 6/20/2012
Thank you for writing the most amazing Holmes romance story I have ever come across.

Your weaving of mystery and romance while keeping Holmes perfectly in character shows such incredible talent.

I enjoyed all your characters and the rich detail you gave them. The banter between Holmes and Helen was perfect. I found myself oscillating wildly between laughter and tears.

I only hope the the two of you will pick up your pens again soon to bring us the nesxt installment in your wonderful series.
inuyashaxkagome321 chapter 16 . 3/6/2012
These stories were simply amazing! I don't know if you've given up on writing another story, but if you haven't, I can't wait until it comes out! You are a brilliant story teller! Half the time, I could have sworn this was part of the actual books and was surprised to not find Helen Holmes Nee Thurlow in them afterwards. Brilliant Job!
Unregistered Reader chapter 16 . 3/2/2012
Aghhh. I can't believe that this is over (for now).

I have read this entire series so far and couldn't possibly get enough of it. This has been the best fanfic I have ever read, and quite possibly some of the best fiction I have ever read to boot.

Your OC is so real, likeable and believable, especially as a match for Holmes. You guys tackled the character of an OC and lead female in a Holmes fic with skill and cunning, and the phrase 'Mary Sue' did not even come to mind once.

Your writing of Holmes is both loyally canonical, while also bringing out parts of personality, feelings and actions that are refreshingly intriguing while staying perfectly believable. All of your other characterizations are spot on as well-Watson is very well done, and I love all of your new characters, such as Alice Thurlow, the twins (gotta love those boys), the Duchess, lady Margaret etc etc.

I absolutely loved all of the mysteries that you have incorporated, as they are vital, I feel, to any good Holmes fiction. You wrote them splendidly, and I particularly enjoyed pondering over The Lucifer Hunt mystery-it had me pause in my reading, pacing around to try to figure it out before it was explained, just as the Canon stories did to me, and that is delightful in a fanfic and all too rare.

Overall and ultimately, everything was spot-on, your descriptions, characters, story lines and plot twists. I have had to stop reading at times from the level of tension, only to be drawn back to reading on again, unable to stop for long. I found myself caring for all of your characters and what happened to them, and I felt absolutely terrible for William, while at the same time happily surprised that what seemed impossible and what I had been daring to hope for all along, happened. Everything felt real. I laughed out loud and found myself grinning like an idiot countless times from the dialogue between Holmes and Watson.

At the ending of your third story, The Courtship, I thought that the saga could easily end there quite satisfyingly, but as I finish the fourth story, I am desperate to read more-this story is not over yet! It's been five years now since you finished this installment and I sincerely hope that you have started that fifth that you mentioned and it is sitting somewhere, waiting to be brushed off and brought to life and written on (and of course posted here so I can read it!)

I'll hush up now and wait and hope and check to see when the next story gets posted. Way to go you two!

anna keye chapter 16 . 1/19/2011
This has been an absolute joy to read from start to finish. I have read the story on my mobile (due to not having a computer have had to wait until I could borrow one to review)and I would love to read more stories from you as you're both very talented writers. More please, more!
chibiaries chapter 16 . 12/15/2010
This. This series. This is absolutely fantastic!

The descriptions, the characterizations, the plots-it all feels very canonical. And the fluff, even though it was dispersed sparingly was written wonderfully, in a very heartwarming manner.

Helen was a believable OC, and Holmes was very much in-character.

I love this fic, and the ones before it, even though the romance was at a 'snail's pace' but the payoff was well worth it.

Can't wait until the next one,

chibiaries
