LOL, I love the ending. Poor Charlie, even I wasn't that bad about getting my license, though I probably wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't required for the first summer job I did.

Having just read the story in which Don, driving drunk, runs a red light and is broadsided, killing Charlie, I find this a nice counterpoint. I do think the age difference is bigger than 16 (age for a permit) and 21 or 22 (last year of college), considering that RM is 43 & DK is 27. But this has a better, happier ending and a good look into Charlie's psychology.
