purpleradiance chapter 1 . 5/17/2016 how poetic |
Trevtrev chapter 1 . 11/19/2005 Noldo, you officially own the art of Harry Potter drabble fic. You use symbols, motifs, and minimalism, and a whole load of things that are easily (and often) abused, and you use them with such skill! Reading your fics purges the poison that is the average angsty and meledramatic HP drabble. God, I can't even get out the words to describe how much I love your stuff! |
swanofakind chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 M...wonderful. I simply loved it! Very nicely done. This is definitely on my favorites. A few contructive things: *The three days Sirius remembers are all certainly well chosen, though in an unchronological-but more importantly anticlimactic-order (which perhaps is how you intended it now that I think on it). It seemed to me as I read through the second time however that you (and the reader) would be best served if the reminisce regarding telling Snape about Lupin was first, then the one about his family, and then the one involving the night Lily, James, and Azkaban. *[This is more a question that suggestion I guess :)] What does QED mean? It was the only time I was jolted from the superb picture your words painted, which probably has more to do with my ignorance than anything, really. :P Again, wonderful work! One of the most memorable, serious pieces I've read by you, if not THE most. Enjoyed it immensely (in case you couldn't already tell :D). yours, synnove. (formerly Sara) |
The Last Cousland chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 I, it's, great. I never liked rain much either. It rained the day... sigh. It still hurts. On to happier things. I loved your story. It holds real meaning, and a great amount of writing, the kind I like best. From the heart. StRaNgE tHiNgS |
Evenstar Elanor chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 He didn't die.. I know it. I know it! "poured a torrent to wash Remus away and sweep Sirius into Azkaban and leave James and Lily there to drown." Woww... such anger; such power! |
Tathrin chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 Oh my god. That was so beautiful it...it actually brought tears to my eyes. And that never happens. I am awed, and I bow humbly before you. I can't remember the last time I read something so simply beautiful or had something so short move me like this. "It rained the evening before the night that James and Lily died, rained great fat drops like tears, like the sky was bleeding, bleeding water instead of blood, poured a torrent to wash Remus away and sweep Sirius into Azkaban and leave James and Lily there to drown." Wow; that line was absolutely amazing. The visual, the emotion...it sums up everything in the most beautiful way I could ever imagine. "He lied, a little. He would, a little." How do you say so MUCH in so little? The Mister Padfoot/Mister Prongs conversation was the perfect touch. You captured them so perfectly I wouldn't be surprised to see little amber drops with Prongs and Padfoot hanging suspended over your bed. "He laughed as he fell, laughed because this was not, would not, could not possibly be happening, laughed because he always laughed (and he always hated rain), and he laughed and he fell to his death, but at least it did not rain while he died." And what a closing line. You start out almost light and amusing with the startled Sirrius and bleary-eyed werewold and broken lampshade, and then suddenly without shifting tone a bit you almost have me crying. Every single line of this is so brilliant. You may well be mad my dear Noldo, but it is a madness I applaud and envy. My hat is off to you for an amazingly well done job. Thank you. |
Vana Tuivana chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 *stunned silence* Oh. Well. This. You never fail to amaze, my dear. Fantastic, and I do mean that sincerely. |
anti chapter 1 . 10/19/2005 OMG TEH ROXXORS!1! Noldo, this is amazing. I love it. There will be no concrit from me; there's nothing to criticise. |
