What Josh is doing, all the manipulation, lying, pretendingnone of that is cute or romantic. It's creepy and toxic. Who would want to be with such a man who doesn't even have enough respect for you to tell you how he feels and thinks it's better to push you away from making decisions about your own personal issues (the house buying)? Who would trust this man? Who would want to marry him? I really hoped Josh was going to get called out on all this and would learn his lesson but it didn't happen. I actually really like the writing itself. It's just Josh's behaviour that is really putting me off, the whole planning and "I know what's best for you". Ugh. If you think I'm overreacting, please consider watching videos on YT under "Pop culture detective", he's really great at explaining this whole issue (start from his most popular videos). I'm sorry, I really did want to like the story. |

Also, you have excellent plan-based plots for this couple. I've favorited and read (more than once) your Atlantic City story, which I also love, but hadn't come across this one yet. I love how it is so sweet and romantic, but they could still fit back into the real world of their jobs without it taking over their lives. |

| thorteso chapter 11 . 1/27/2013 I love everything about this. Josh and his plans are just wonderful. So glad you had this story inside his head, his reactions to everything and his wandering thoughts made this so fun! A few of my favorite moments - the cabbie. I love that he didn't realize he was talking out loud! And then Toby, especially the scene with Jeff and Mark. Toby is usually so serious, it was fun to see him in this role! And of course, the best part, the end. Can I get a new house like that? Best contract the two of them ever signed. Thanks for sharing this story! |
