This one in particular reminded me of Brett analysing his interpretation of Holmes, in which he said something to the effect of Holmes needed Watson much more than Watson needed Holmes (not sure I entirely agree with that) but that Holmes could never tell him so. He couldn't tell him he was sorry, except off-hand, which is exactly what you say.

I've always thought that Watson's reaction to DYIN warrented a story, giving his abominable treatment by Holmes in the story.

What can I say but brilliant? Absolutly brilliant! I've never read a story that goes into such depth about Watson's feelings and beliefs. Honestly, this is one of the best Holmes fics I've read in a long time. *looks down at own meger writing and groans* Man you're so talented! I'm looking foward to reading more of your work!
