i really like this story, but think that 'sweet fluffy story' really fits. i actually think that Hermione was really angsty. crucio doesnt inspire pictures of fluffy bunnies. love the story, as well as your writing.

See, you have the most ingenious ideas, but you smoosh them all together into one-shots. They would be much better served by long, detailed, Bildungsroman sort of clandestine, slow-romance type thing. I totally get the whole "mysterious protector from my childhood" turns into the "teenage dreamy secret-agent man/James Bond-y/Edward Cullen (let's face it, every teen girl has one; he doesn't have to be a vampire and you don't have to be straight, but EVERY GIRL HAS ONE) sexy protector guy" and ends up "tall, dark, and handsome lumberjack/indian chieftain/evil overlord who makes me feel all womanly inside." Its genius. But it would have been so much better not drawn out, but detailed and explained in alongside Hermione's growth without Lord Voldemort and her thoughts on all his actions in the past and present, why she never told anyone she had met him when she first read about him in Hogwarts, A History (because that would have been the first the book she would read that mentioned him), and more just plain hotness because you are so good at it.

I would not add to the whole "childhood interaction" chunk of the story, but add everywhere else. You could do such great things with this story, all you have to do is go into much more depth on the follow-up to Voldemort's role in Hermione's youth. You get get at least a solid ten twenty-page chapters out of this if you really put your mind to it! I know it sounds daunting, but you can definitely crank them out. Think of all the glorious glorious, glorious reviews.

I don't really think Hermione was that smart as a five year old but close to it. I like how you had Hermione all innocent as a child and had her all different as an adult. But for what she went through you can't really blame her can you?
