I *love* this fic. This is truly my favorite fic ever. I've read it a million times.

I was always a Vansen/West shipper due to a misunderstanding of mine (the first ep I ever saw was "Stay with the dead" and I didn't know the characters back then. In the scene where West asks McQueen what is 'the most important thing in the world to him' and McQueen answers 'the girl' I assumed he was talking about Vansen, who West kept dreaming about).

It is wonderful to see that pairing work in a way that actually feels true to the characters. So thank you.

I'd be FOREVER grateful if you could please write a continuation to this. Or, perhaps, more Vansen/West fic.

I didn't get to see the original ending that FOX dumped on us back in '95 and after finally seeing it on the DVD's last week I wished I hadn't. I'm not a big fan of unhappy endings. I've had one too many in my own life and have never found them very entertaining. This helps set things right.

I don't know how often I've read this story, but it really does cheer me up when I'm stressed out. When the show was cancelled it really took me by surprise (mostly because I hadn't been so obsessed with sites like and LJ at that time ;)), and I still can't really understand why.

Anyway, I really love the fact that you picked Vansen/West, and I'd very, very much love it if you decided to write and publish another Vansen/West-story. So... pretty please?

NO! It can't be over! This is one of the best fics I've ever read. It's going straight to my favs list. The beginning was so beautifully sad, but I'm glad it ended with hope. I love the way you write. (I liked "Nathan was beginning to feel less and less human and more and more like a raisin", I laughed.) Could you PLEASE not end it here? PLEASE?

If you do ever continue it, then could you put McQueen in it? Anyway, just wanted to say it's spectacular! Thank you for writing it.

Wow, this was a REALLY good story. I had given up finding anything new, until I noticed the story count had gone up. You really hit the characters and did an excellent job with this. You hit the dark realism of the show. I wish/hope you will write some more stories. Maybe see further into Nathan coming back; seeing what is going on with McQueen, Cooper and 'Phouse. And of course more of Vansen/West.

I wish Fox would sell the show to Gekko Productions or whoever is producing Battle Star Galactica and have some more shows taped. Probably can't get the same actors, but there has to be actors that can carry on the good work done by the originals. But that is my hope/dream.

Anyway, I thought this was a very excellent story; I hated to come to the end of it. I am going to put you on my alerts in case you do decide to write more. If you need a beta for any let me know.

I share your anger at SAAB's untimely cancellation (I've always had the outragious hope that maybe someday some tv exec will realize what a great show it was and resurrect it or something - though, sadly, probably not), and the number of fic's for the show is steadily declining, so please write some more! Especially of the West/Vansen variety :)

10 years? Has it been that long? If the series came out now and ended the way it did, you can bet someone would've tried to make a miniseries movie to tie up all the lose ends. We can only hope, though.

I know this had a West/Vansen ship to it, but I almost wanted McQueen to show up a little. His character really held the show together, I think.

I guess watching the series all at once would give some inspiration to write, wouldn't it?
