I usually don't read major character death stories but I liked this. I liked the ending.

So emotional and so endearing. I love the way Starsky came to appreciate Hutch's gift and felt closest to him under that tree. I think this story demonstrates the true depth of their friendship, that not even death could separate them for long.

A bittersweet tale, gently told. You almost make me hopeful of an afterlife.

The direct style of writing, lacking unnecessary embellishments, is true to character.

All in all, this is a nice tie-in to the series and a piece to inspire sorrowful reflection while still offering glimmers of hope.
