As for how you should write the story...Why not both? Make each storyline connect at the end.

Hmm. There is really still a quality difference between the earlier and later chapters, but after some pretty bad grammar in the first bit of chapter 1, and some ping-ponging on Ranma's gender everything was readable and enjoyable. There was also some outright character bashing earlier on, Akane's first couple scenes, (Up until she found Kasumi in Ranma's room,) and Ryoga, (He doesn't start smashing stuff out of frustration unless there's a fairly large lead-up. It's not his standard state while lost.

Also, I must state for the record that Akane rarely uses hammers. She would have punched him, since they're not in her room and she has no reason to be carrying her bamboo training sword.

Other than that, and some quibbles I have about character power levels, I really enjoyed the story. I think evil ninja dude killing both Lime and Herb early on was kinda over the top, but hey, your story.

Warning, RANT.

Ranma has very little problem with hitting women in canon. Yes, I'm aware he states that he doesn't like fighting them, but the only time I can remember this happening, it was in the Anime and he then turned girl and went 'but if we're both girls, it's cool.' If Ranma has a problem with fighting women at all, it's the image and social stigma of beating up on a girl, which he fixes by going girl himself. He also doesn't like beating up on weaker people in general, hence why he'll let Gosunkugi get away with as much as he does, and for the most part all the women Ranma knows are markedly weaker than him. He'd just seen Kasumi hand a towering monster his ass, so that isn't an issue here.

For evidence, note both Ranma-chan casually spin-kicking Shampoo off of the log, and Ranma fighting Cologne with intent to punch her face in. She may be an old ghoul, but she is also both insanely strong, and a woman.

The worst part of all of this is that you had a perfectly good way to get out of this without using the comment that 'Ranma doesn't hit girls,' and you ended up using it at the end, but not before having him hem and haw about it specifically because Kasumi was a girl.

She'd just taken a LOT of damage in her last fight, and he didn't want to fight her while she was wounded. If that had been his only reason, I wouldn't have facepalmed nearly as much.

Sorry, end rant.

Also, as to people claiming you underpowered the ranma cast, they may be somewhat justified, given that in the saffron fight, we learn that not only can ranma easily lift a 3 ton bolder, but that by Nerima standards, being momentarily stunned when said 3 ton bolder hits you in the face classifies you as a wimp.

Yet another EPIC match keep'em comming.

Even though I only discovered this story I glad to hear your going to continue it. I need to know what happens next.
Maybe it will inspire me to finish the stories that a younger flakier me didn't finish as well.

2 I get Ryu was tired and off-guard last time, but last time ranma barely tried. Isn't their fight a forgon conclusion?
