I have to say, Gawain always has been one of my favorite knights along with Dagonet and Tristan. Yes. Those three are my favorites of them, though Dag and Tristan do outshine Gawain just a little bit. But only barely.

Anyway. Amazing story and I completely agree that so many women just wish for a guy to notice them in a good way. Tell them they're pretty. Care about them. *sigh* Lucky marketplace girl.

*sigh* This was very romantic for our Gawain. When I see his picture (have lovely one on file), I think boyish good looks. And when I hear him laugh, I sigh. It's an infectous laugh. Joyous.

He has made our heroin seem like the most beautiful woman in the world. She seems like so many of us. Not so much timid, but fearful of what others may think. Self conscious of our looks. If the Marine Corps has taught me one thing, it was that it didn't matter what you looked like.

I loved the sister's reaction in the end. She got the man. Makes me wonder at how often the sister has tried to go after our lion and failed. And here, the 'homely' looking one got him. Good for her!
