So much like Tom? What was Albus smoking? Apart from the hair-colour and Hogwarts house they are nothing alike. Voldemort was full of hate, not sadness. Voldemort studied killing and soul-splitting; Snape invented prank spells. Voldemort was a predator; Snape a victim.

Your one-shots are so powerful. This is beautiful work.

...and not sentimental which is a hazard with these stories. I confess I haven't thought too deeply about how much Tom and Sev are alike at least not from this angle. Usually I think of it as Sev and Voldemort.

What I like most are the responses you list where someone is always passing the buck on helping Sev. It brings the point home very well.

I admit I also liked the mention of Dumbledore looking into Sev's eyes and thinking of Eileen. I write my own fan ficiton and, in thinking about Sev's character, I've come to the conclusion that Eileen is HIGHLY important in the construction of his psyche but she's not always emphasized as much as she should be in fan fic. I'd love to see what you did with a focus on just Eileen and Sev. I'll check out your profile to see what else you've written. You might also want to check out HLB's Just Like Mommy. You remind me a bit of HLB, whose work I ADORE. HLB also wrote And Yet He Flinched, another great Sev-centric story.
