Good start. You have a straight forward style of writing- just the right amount of detail and beautifully worded- something I stuggle on. I'm much more sugary with probably too much frill in my writing.

I like that you're doing a take on Narcissa. I read the sixth book and thought, "Am I a bad person for feeling a little bit of material sympathy for Narcissa?" I mean, she is a mother who obviously loves her son. No matter what the rest of the story is, that basis is there.
