I just found this and i doubt you care about a review 14 years too late. That said after reading this and the reviews i felt i had to say this. What you pointed out can be a problem, but only if you come to fanon looking for canon rehashes. Maybe you just wanted to see someones idea of the story from someone else's pov? Ive read only a little of the manga. I've studied he wikia which i think is canon, but could be wrong.
As for specific things I think Akane gets her treatment mostly do to something Kasumi says about her. Ill give the linve from the wikia that mentions it "Kasumi’s initial assessment that "She's really a very sweet girl. She's just a violent maniac." has consistently held true, if usually only in Ranma's case. "
Her own insecurities, Ranma's lack of socialization skills because of his father(and psycho mother), and Kuno's idiocy are all reasons for this. And sadly peoples negative traits are easier to remember than the positives. Sure MC's usually get spruced up but others not so much.
As for Nabiki, well, we dont really know WHAT she does with the money she makes, and the house and dojo are in good repair(most of the time) with the bills paid and enough food. Soun comlpains about money issues in the anime. So while its not canon and probably not true, i CAN see her and Kasumi using some of it to keep the family afloat as Canon does not give proof that Soun has a job.
Genma and Soun get bad raps because of them forcing the marriage, and in my case Soun takes a hit when he tells Ranma he would get to pick but then shoves him towards Akane(despite her protests) because the older two Pick her. Genma also has a horrible character. He may not be evil but he is most likely an idiot. And based on Nekoken, probably abusive under the guise of making Ranma stronger.

I dont like Ryoga mainly because of his "blame my woes on Ranma" thing.

All that said i agree people do sometimes take things to far, but my view of Fanon doesnt see that as a problem. Fanon is not just a place to rehash canon. Fanon is a place to say "what if" and "would this be better" and the like. Or just "this is how i think it should have gone." Anyways thanks for writing and sharing and sorry if this bothers you( for what i say or just because its kinda pointless)

Nice one! Especially the "Mary Sue" part. Mind you, i have no problems with Mary Sues... as long as they're well done.
I mean, how many MSs did we see who were either nearly-invincible/omnipotent and still got captured by the "bad guy of the week" (who goes from pathetically supreme weakling to overwhelmingly powerfoul God in less than two lines), who got his way with them and suddenly get a change of heart and become good, while the MS becomes... less good because her "friends" suddenly don't trust her anymore because she fell in love with "now-good-guy-of-the-week"?

btw i wanted to tell something the problem of Akane is she get soo much dark fic that make her look like a spoiled princess that it changes your view even if you read the manga like myself some hour ago i read annother Akane is spoiled fic and i was hating her seriously i hated her for about 2 days after some fic i read luckily i got the complete collection of Ranma 1/2 dvd series and after seeing some of my favorite episode the effect cleared this is a advice i give to anyone if you start hate Akane go and read the manga or watch the anime it will let you see clearly

bad out of character fanfic are not only bad to read they make you change your belives watch out for those now that im cleared from the bad Akane fanfic virus im gonna read some Ranma Akane fanfic
