MilandaAnza chapter 16 . 1/26/2016 Sad and heartbreaking but I'm glad she'll have at least a bit of joy with Ginny before she dies. |
K chapter 16 . 9/27/2015 Wow. That was. Amazing. You had me strung along for the whole thing. That was amazing. Again. Oops. But, still, I loved it. I've read a few of your other works, and I must say, you are quite the writer. Thank you for creating this beautiful piece, and please continue to write for many years to come. |

lita rocks LbC chapter 1 . 3/10/2014 I still love this story so so so much. It's ridiculously good! And every year that I read it again, I pick up on something that I've been missing. The darkness and anger behind it still gets to me. Definitly one of my all time favorite stories I've come across on FFnet, and it's gonna stay that way. forever! I wish you'd come back to writing, and I could give you more virtual cookies. haha. Expect another review from me in a few years when I've come back to this story! Gushin about how amazing it still is and all. ha. |
Jack Straw chapter 15 . 2/18/2014 Actually, disregard my last review. Like I said, I've read this story many times. Yet somehow I always seem to forget how the story ends, especially that little twist with Fleur in the chapter before this one. It's funny, every single time I read this story I get to the part where Hermione thinks "How many of them have I taken?" and I assume, since she isn't taking some set quantity, that she is abusing them. That little assumption leads to that whole line of reasoning in my previous review. The I get to that twist with Fleur in the previous chapter and go "Oh wow, I'm dumb." I think that has happened to me every single time I read this story, yet I never remember until afterwards. It's ridiculous. But yeah, your descriptive writing is wonderful. The whole Draco-Harry thing felt like a bit of a cop-out though, since there was nothing hinting towards it. And since it really ha no bearing on the plot, I don't really think it could qualify as a "twist". |
Jack Straw chapter 9 . 2/18/2014 (This review isn't necessarily about chapter 9) I've read this story many times, and I absolutely love it. You are amazing at conveying emotion and painting a scene, and I am constantly engaged in everything that is going on even though it isn't my first time reading this story. But there is one thing that I've never fully understood no matter how many times I read it: Hermione and the white pills. It was never very clear to me whether she started abusing the pills in order to cope with her problems, or if her problems stemmed from her abuse of the pills and her abuse had simply been the result of a dependence formed from taking the pills regularly. I'm inclined to believe the first case is the truth, since in the second case there is nothing stopping Hermione from seeking professional help for her abuse, whereas in the first case she would be much less comfortable approaching someone about it. But it is also unlikely that the first case is true, because if it were true then there has to be some deep-seated issue that led to the original abuse, but there is no evidence of that in the story. Depending on which scenario is the truth would have a pretty big affect on my view of Hermione as a character, so it's not a very good ambiguity to have in a story. I really liked all the scenes with the pills because I love it when authors try to paint a past using the events of the present, but a drawback of that technique is that if you aren't thorough then some very important details can become ambiguous. That first passage with the pills is still by far my favorite passage in the entire story though. It was masterfully done. |
Guest chapter 16 . 9/27/2013 wow my good God this is wonderful i want more please |
O'Laithian chapter 16 . 4/10/2013 A couple years ago, I could never convince myself to read this entire story. I'd had too many experiences with stories that start out like this one but end with absolutely no closure. But now that I've read it all the way through, this probably has the most amazing character arcs in any story I've read. The second the first crack began to show in Hermione's armor, I was hooked. |
happyface chapter 1 . 4/4/2013 I thought Hermione was the Ice Queen, but oh well. It was still a great fanfic! |
lynettecullen chapter 1 . 2/12/2013 I might actually like this. |
Kat125 chapter 16 . 2/18/2012 First of all, this story was really confusing at times but I really loved it. Second, what the hell does she have and is Fleur some old love or nurse? |
KeiHime013 chapter 16 . 10/14/2011 The story was a little vague so correct me if I missed something... Hermione was dying of an unspecified illness and Fleur was her doctor. To continue the treatment, as it seems Hermione's father already gave up, Fleur married him. Fleur then pushed Hermione towards Draco. Since Hermione was on the emotional rebound, she pretty much latched onto Draco pretty quickly. But the bastard that he is, Draco was just stringing her along. To get revenge, Hermione slept with Pansy. This then started the whole string of relationships Hermione had. At some point, she got involved with Harry, who seems determined to get together with Ginny. The entire drama is further doubled as it is revealed that Draco was just messing with them using Harry. And apparently Harry is in love with Draco. Oh, and Draco is a druggie, supplied by Fleur. It was an interesting story to say the least. Very vague in details. So it kind of felt rushed at some points. I enjoyed it but I wished you would've been a little clearer. |
Virginia I chapter 16 . 9/4/2011 -.- I stayed for the mystery illness and I get gipped? Siiiighhhhh Still enjoyed your story though. The interactions between Hermione, Ron and Harry were interesting. |
13DaysOfSummer chapter 16 . 5/19/2011 This story is so good, and so full of passion and emotion. Absolutely lovely! One of my favourites! One question (sorry i'm a lil'slow, and I have a cold foggy mind :D); is Hermione dying? And if she is, what of? |
