I *love* your characterization of Kenshin: not crazy, but calculating and a master of his weapon and its tactics. Can't believe it's taken me this long to find this story.

I love this "It was always me, not the rurouni" idea and the way you explain Saito! Oh! The way those two understand and respect eachother!

Hey! I just found this story and I love it. The plot it's brilliant, and I really want to know what's going to happen now. Please update soon.

This is an interesting take on the series, but I have one problem with it. If Kenshin had never sworn not to kill again, but merely preferred not to, why would he tell his friends he had? Such a fundamental deception renders the friendships largely illusionary, and makes it seem as though he were using them - like the sort of person that makes him would have a secret contempt for them rather than true friendship. He does play the fool of course, but that's only window dressing.
A simliar effect could be arrived at simply through his establishing a pattern of using non-lethal force of his own free will, never having been put in a position where he was facing someone who needed killing and couldn't be stopped any other way while in their presence. They would know, then, that he /does not/ kill as a rule, and might assume that he never will, but have never been told so. Then if /they/ knew the stories about him and believed them, and therefore thought that he had changed very much, and if /he/ assumed that because they knew him they must know that the stories did not represent him accurately... you could have an equally big mess, but made of assumptions rather than deliberate deception, and that sort of thing would be far more probable to rescue friendships from.

Thank you, computer, for spazzing on me and turning my hitting the "enter" key into posting the review. ANYWAYS. Like I said, this is good. More than good, actually, it's brilliant. The concept itself is awesome, and I think you've handled it beautifully; it's a very interesting take, and I have to admit that what I have been most curious about is how things with Hiko would go, though it appears I will never find out. ANYWAYS, the weird friendship-like-thing that Saitou and Kenshin have here is awesome, and their conversations, with all the extra that's going on beneath the words, are far and away my favorite part of this story. Anyways, it's awesome and I love it and I'm gonna follow it just in case, even though it's probably hopeless.

My account's currently not working, so I have to settle with this instead. I wanna see how Kenshin completes the ougi and how Misao's and Kaoru's thoughts on Kenshin's personality since he acted different to the both of them. I can't wait to see what would happen. Will Kenshin be able to defeat Shishio without killing him or will he use his last resort with Sano and Saito as his witnesses?

I love the story and cant wait for more. I really want to know how the others will think of the truth about Kenshin. I also want to see Kenshins master oon because I think he's so funny. Cant wait for more.
