This chapter made me really very sad, but I take comfort in knowing that Joker will spring Jonny out of Arkham in the end. Bittersweet.

I've never heard of that "Punch and Judy" show. It sounds really cool and creepy, though. God, that kiss at the end has my stomach all tied up in knots of excitement! Ha-ha.

I really enjoyed reading this...even though my computer kept shutting down on me! I admire the way you write and I loved the way I kinda ended up feeling sorry for the Scarecrow. (In all honesty, he's always kinda scared me!) So yeah, well done!

I've never read (or even heard of) a Scarecrow/Joker fanfiction before this one. Strange, but I like it. Pray, do tell how you thought of it. How did you think of this pairing? At a first glance, the two don't seem...compatible. However, while reading your story it just worked. (Somewhat hard to explain.)

I LOVE PUNCH AND JUDY! It's just fun to watch those puppets. Only someone like Crane would put too much thought into them, to make them feel scary. Then again, I doubt anyone enjoys getting beaten to death (even if it is only in their dreams). Nice tale, I put it in my favorites.

I know next to nothing about Punch and Judy, but from what I'm reading here it seems...like one of those morbid shows kids shouldn't watch? Well, I'm not complaining about it here, seems interesting - and good job on the fic!

Well, well, well. I never expected to believe in a Scarecrow/Joker pairing! And, of course, my main requirement for any fanfiction pairing, slash or otherwise, is "Do I believe it?" not "Do I like it?" Liking it is something entirely different, but...I think I like this, too, yes. It's rather unexpected and not at all nice (and thanks for not making it nice.) It reminds me a bit of The Sandman, in which a very adorable incarnation of the Scarecrow laments that April Fool's Day in Arkham is just not the same without the Joker's tricks. I think that's the only place I've seen the two of them as anything like comrades. In fact, one of the earliest appearances of the Scarecrow (his second, I believe) had the two of them fighting a very amusing duel...

Um...I'm not quite sure where I was going with this. But, hey. Good job. You've done your work very well.

Normally I wouldn't say things like "OMFG!" because it's terribly cliche, but OMFG! This story is perfect. I can't explain how right it is...you didn't go overboard on references to Punch & Judy, the ones you did have were just perfect and were added just where they needed to be added; thus making the story even greater-whereas some writers go haywire with references to the title or symbolism; you got the dose perfect. And whereas some short fan fiction stories are...well...too short; and only scrape at the surface; and whereas some fan fiction stories are too long and drag on, yours is a perfect size. You say what you need to say in a short amount of time, and I'm saying you rush it; your talent means that there is not one feeling of rush-edness about the story; as you say what you need to say in a short amount of time; but unlike other inferior writers, you say it well. The descriptions were beautiful; I could really picture the layout, and the appearance of the characters. Talking about characters, I really do think you got the characters of the Scarecrow and the Joker 100% correct; what they were saying, their actions; and Jonathan's thoughts and feelings. And...well, as you are currently the pioneer of Scarecrow/Joker slash* here on you really do leave HUGE shoes for future Scarecrow/Joker slashers to fill in. An excellent job. I can say with wholehearted delight; that you rock. Thankyou very much for making this simply amazing fiction; and thankyou very very much for giving me something so slash-edly exquisite to dream about tonight...

*As for implying what happened, slash-wise, I think that was finely done too. I like writers who allow for their readers to use their imaginations...as warped as they may be.
