This was really interesting, I enjoyed it. I really like about Dee not really having a birthday, I've always written him like that, not having a birthday (in my mind, not on paper, it has yet to come up in my stories :) )it makes me feel more secure in my logic that you think the same thing :)

You captured some really beautiful emotion here, and I think you have Dee's reaction to the situation pretty great. Its understated, but its still a deep and truly felt emotion. No sobbing anyone, which makes me happy! People can be sad/depressed/whatever and not cry. I love that you seem to understand that here. So super kudos on that.

The one thing you need to work on here is your diction. When Dee speaks, I don't hear his voice, it feels a little formal, stiff, stilted. Dee's going to play fast and lose with the English language because of his own roots. Ryo is a little better, because Ryo, I think, speaks more formally. I wish I had a good sugestion on how to practice finding good dialague voices but I really don't I'm sorry. Just keep practicing.

This is a big improvement from your other Fake piece. I don't know if this came before or after but, the writing is far far more fleshed out. Your understatment is really good. Keep working at it, you have the makings of a stellar writer I think, and this shows off your ability to get inside Dee's head, I think. A little more fleshing out, a little work with the diction, and I'd have almost nothing to criticize, and as you've probably figured out, its rare when I have nothing to criticize ;)

Lol! I just love home videos! They're always so cute, although at the same time extremely embarrassing! This was cute to, it made me smile a lot, which is really good because I was crying only a few minutes ago (I'm such a sissy sometimes)! I like smiling! So cute, so cute!

Hey! I loved this! So sweet and fluffy! :D Sometimes it is the littlest of things that make all the difference in the world in our lives. Who knew birthdays could be that important or mean so much to someone? I never thought about it but I guess that orphans go thru more than anyone ever realized! *hugs Dee and then hugs Ryo too - wouldn't want him to feel left out!* :D
