Boring as f**k.

Story is exciting but the story of the Count of Monte Cristo is a classic and hard to top.

It's become less and less entertaining, with all the long flashback and Harry who kind of don't want to see Ginny when, if I understand correctly, didn't betray him.

I would just like to say; I FRIGGIN' LOVE THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO! It is my FAVORITE novel by Alexandre Dumas.

Very disappointed that you didn't finish the story.

I have to say, this story is a bit of a failure *purely* due to the fact that you made Ginny such a factor. Harry & Ginny's 'relationship' in canon was a pathetic joke with no development to speak of. He had more chemistry and interaction with half his female friends in Hogwarts to be honest. For that reason alone I can't take this seriously; I can't imagine he would actually give a shit that Ginny has married Malfoy, other than being a bit surprised.

It's worlds apart from the heartbreaking 'betrayal' in Count of Monte Cristo, where he was actually going to marry the girl and start a successful life. They were older, more serious, had actually had a proper relationship, etc. And that's not counting that this Harry clearly didn't suffer at all in Azkaban. He was dumped straight into a healing chamber after being framed; to then be trained by Elves somewhere in la-la land, as opposed ot the decade of torment and suffering that Count of Monte Cristo went through, tunnelling out with small rocks.

It's an interesting concept and could be done well, I just don't think this is doing it justice as a concept.

I love this story and wish it was not abandoned.

where is Hermione? Story is dragging along now, no interaction with the other characters. Just you telling us what they are doing. Gets boring mighty fast.

Voldemort shouldn't have given up on looking for Harry so quickly.

Darkness erodes the anchor? I like high elves, I truly do, but I don't like how they imply that Voldemort should have lost, and Dumbledore should have lived. The 'light' side betrayed Harry, and Voldemort was the only one who tried to look for Harry. Except Hermione.

Good luck, Count, Severus, Voldemort. I am not going to regard Severus as traitor. First, he has never treated Harry as Boy-Who-Lived, he has never tried to use Harry's fame or pretend to be his friend; so, unlike Dumbledore, Ronald, and other members of the Order, Severus was not expected to help Harry, his lack of support doesn't hurt as much. Second, unlike Dumbledore, he could not have influenced the trial; if he tried to interfere, they would say that he, as a Death Eater, was the one to teach Harry Unforgivables. Third, unlike those who said Harry to be guilty, Severus would have known that casting Unforgivables is not easy, and that Harry would not have done it. Fourth, as Severus knows that Harry is the only one who can defeat Voldemort, and Severus certainly doesn't want Voldemort - who has killed Lily - to win, Severus would have tried to save Harry as soon as possible, because even Dementors alone induce insanity, and Harry is especially sensitive to them; most likely, Severus would have tried to get Harry during transit, from the boat in the cold stormy sea, and switch him with somebody else to buy Harry and himself time. But unfortunately, Severus was preoccupied, and is most likely dead...

I must admit that I am very intrigued by your story, especially since the "Count of Monte Cristo" is, quite possibly, my favorite book ever. The first time I read it, it was in French and in its entire, two-tome length. You have definitely managed to pique my interest, so I am really looking forward to the next chapter. It is simply bound to be interesting, what with Harry and Voldemort meeting for the first time in...12 years, was it? Also, it is quite amusing to figure out which HP character represents which Count of Monte Cristo character._

So keep up the fantastic work and please, please, please write and post the next chapter a.s.a.p.!_
