Seems to me every good Gambit story is like every good Irish story. Can't possibly have a happy ending. Think you've captured something fundamental about his character here, even though Rogue/Remy irritates the shit out of me these days. What you did here was brilliant, and so considerate to canon. Very cool fic, thanks for that.

Love the way you've made him categorically evil. I realize that the only way to do it is posession, he is, by nature, far more noble than anyone would give him credit for. You've done a bang up job.
As for Rogue... is it sick that I'm actually ENJOYING seeing her tortured? Since Antarctica... let's just say I don't have much time for her. Evo Rogue, yeah. Marvelverse Rogue. Heh.

Little lines like this are what I'm really enjoying about this read. Very nice, adds so much, just a few little words. Love the idea of latent telepathy kicking in, and all the implications of it. Looks like I might just have to read the whole thing tonight. I'll try not to bug you every chapter!

Great concept!
Really nice characterization, of the X-Men and the OCs. The irritating little Veronica. Giving her such attention really adds that little touch, that makes something go from "tolerable" to "enjoyable."
It's a little confusing, the way you have some lines with people speaking, and then immediately following, on the same line, an action by another person. ""It’s called a duffel bag, Roguie." Rogue slapped her hand against the arm of her chair and stood up, toe to toe with Remy."
It's just a little thing, but it does make one need to read the line twice. Might be just a formatting thing though.
Yay for finding promising Gambit fics! I simply don't trust the Cajun to many people, but I have a feeling this will not dissapoint.

As always another amazing story by Gambitgirl. The ending was great. It didnt quite have a happy ending, but it had hints to their future relationship. Frankly Im bored of them. Theyre so...predicable. Nobody could have accomplished this story like you did.

man, i finally got to the end of this. going down really killed me. anyhoo, awesome story. i really liked remy and rogue getting loud and violent like that, it really fits. and the way jean treated him after he came back, although it struck me as off at first, she wasn't too nice after antarctica in the comic, so really, it was expected. leave it to emma to be the big person in this. i really hope there's a sequel to this. great fic.

I don't think I get it. Did Gambit take the evil part of him and blast it at Sinister? Has he actually managed to kill Sinister, something the X-Men have never managed to do (probably because he has more personality then 98% of the X characters). In this case he is one of the most powerful mutants and the X-men are fools to make a potential enemy out of him. It would be nice to see the thieves and assassins guilds take him back. Thanks for the series and looking eagerly for the next one.
