Oh, that was freaking tense. I love how you interwove the two plot lines: Fellman getting to his daughter and Jonathan forcibly digging Christine's painful memories out of her head. The whole story just kept getting tighter and tighter and more unbearable until the very, very end when it subsides into a lovely little conclusion that leaves the reader with warm fuzzy feelings (a sharp contrast to the cold scary feelings they'd been experiencing only a few sentences ago). I like this last chapter the best: it was expertly written and completely gripping. If I can make the conclusion to MY Cranefic even a tenth as exciting as yours, I'll be a happy girl. To sump up this entire glowing review: BLOODY (literally...) BRILLIANT.

p.s. Bring on the "Red Eye" fic! I can't wait to see what wonders you'll work. I'll put you on Author Alert so I don't miss a single moment of the excitement. :)

Don't worry about writer's block. Who doesn't have a little difficulty getting from point A to point B? You clearly know your characters well, which is great, and it's good that you have an ending in mind (I can't stand the authors who just throw us a couple of tantalizing table scraps and then give up!). Just build the tension (like you're already doing) and keep us hooked (ditto) and you're set!

It is so great to find a fanfic where Crane is perfectly alive, the original characters are multidimensional and intriguing, and the plot is truly compelling. Many of these Cranefics provide one or two of those elements, but it's a rare one where all three combine together seamlessly. You've established yourself as a venerable expert in the area, in my humble opinion! I can't wait to read more.
