And to add to your ending note: ALW made a sequel to the Phantom of the Opera. Erik runs a freak show on Coney Island in New York, Christine actually had a kid with him before her wedding with Raoul. The kid is crazy talented with music, so it's a no-duh that it's Erik's. Meg and Madame Giry go evil and kill Christine because Meg loves the Phantom (I think Raoul either died or split along the way) and Erik takes in his kid. I swear I'm not kidding.
