i never thought about it that way. obviously, this isn't completely canon, and i think that ron, hermione, ginny and sirius WERE there for harry, but i can certainly imagine harry feeling this way. And how you've linked it all so perfectly to his glasses! I also love your last line

Being curious about what fic you meant I decided to check your profile and waddaya know I find this other one that I've never seen. Well written, angsty, emotional, plausable. It was a wonderful piece.

Aw, this was sad, but quite well done. I like the reference to his glasses being a shield that led him to his cage.
