Reviews for Lost and Found
xxClosed Accountxx chapter 7 . 2/23/2010
Thank you for this chapter. In fact, thank you for the whole story. I loved that you also gave us insight to Holmes' mind and feeling. I liked how he thought of his friends back in London while he was in Tibet. And his talk with the Lama was nice to read.

Thanks for filling the gap in the canon by writing this fanfic and by telling us what everybody must have gone through after the falls incident.

And just to end this review,

"To Holmes, the name of his friend spoke of steadiness, of solidity, of dependability. Over the years, it had become the symbol of the one and only venture toward another human being that Holmes had ever attempted."

BEAUTIFUL!

I liked this chapter very much!

- I liked how everyone local was mourning Holmes' death. It makes sense and it was a nice touch. As you put it, Holmes WAS a national hero at his time even in real world! The world did mourn his death as the priest put it in earlier chapters. I doubt Holmes knew how much he meant not only to Watson, Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft and Mary but to lots and lots of other people.

- I really liked how you had "Dr. Doyle" as Watson's "literary agent". Nice touch there!

- I loved the visit to Baker Street and having Watson meet Mrs. Hudson and see the rooms empty of Holmes' presence. I think it conveyed the feel of loss very effectively. I also loved Mycroft and Watson's interaction and how Mycroft was understanding and how Watson talked to him about feeling guilty. It just made a lot of sense.

- Lestrade being incredulous about Holmes' death was another nice touch. It turns out he was not wrong anyway!

Poor Watson has had his share of grief and loss of loved one, hasn't he? Mother, father, brother, best friend, and later, wife. :( And Mary is such a sweetheart. She deserved that kiss and even more.

"Her 'questing' fingers gently pried out a small packet..."

I don't know why but I really liked this part and your way of writing it. :)

Your Mycroft is so in character. Loved the brothers' interaction.

I really like your Mrs. Hudson and her point of view. It's always refreshing to see things from her perspective. I especially liked the flashback when a young Holmes and later a young Watson first met her.

This is beautiful writing. I just love the fanfics that focus on the aftermath of The Final Problem since there isn't really anything about the aftermath in the canon. Good work!

Marvelous. Thank you very much for sharing, it's one of the best stories I'v ever seen - beautifull detail, greatly written characters (deafening cheers for Mrs Hadson, Mary, Holmses... ), events full of deep meening and tastefully written. You've done it very good, thank you again!

Oh...wow...

I'm normally a fast reader, but this piece touched me so much I really had to stop at some points. It was so beautifully tragic. You've perfectly portrayed the pain felt by everyone around Holmes, especially by Watson, the joy of Mycroft at finding out that his brother had triumphed (I loved that tadpole story-too darn cute!), and the inner conflict in Sherlock when he said that he had wanted to write to Watson many times during his years of self-exile. Plus, the passages you've chosen were just too perfect.

Great job!:)

::bows:: You are so good at this! Every chapter up to this one has made me cry (but I was happy, it's that good a fic)! Now I'm starting to feel better now because I know The Empty House is coming. This is an interesting angle, writing about how hard it was for Holmes to just leave Watson to mourn his death. I usually just think, "Holmes you jerk, poor Watson!" but of course Holmes had his reasons and he suffered for them. Poor Holmes.
