Lol, reflex. The Wizards don't know much about hand-to-hand combat. Though Ed just drove home that wizards who can't speak fast enough or cast wandlessly will have trouble casting a spell when faced with an opponent who doesn't also use a wand but get in your face instead (here I'm thinking about all kinds of creatures, not just muggles).
I thought Dumbledore was teaching? If you really are keeping the new prof, then you should probably change Dumbledore's announcement. or, when Lantz is introduced for the first time, add a bit about Dumbledore managing to find a professor at the last minute after all.

Oooh, this is really well written! I can't wait to see what happens next! It's going to take some doing for Al (and Armstrong) on the Ametris side of things, and Ed on the England side, to get Ed back home.
Ed's not gonna be happy about magic - or he might be excited? idk, but I think he'll like learning magical theory to make sense of it.

I think Edward was kinda OOC at some points in this fanfic. I seriously doubt he would tell the trio what happened to his limbs without much of an extreme cause. In the show he only told people when required to or when they connected the dots on their own. I also thought the relationship between the trio and Ed was lacking. I wish they had more interactions. Most of the plot was predictable and the parts that weren't had me re-reading in confusion until I just gave up. The ending really had me confused too, I kinda understand what happened but I'm really unsatisfied with the conclusion.

Despite all of this, I still for the most part liked a lot of aspects of this story like Ed's interactions with the staff of Hogwarts. Though, the things I don't like outweigh a lot of what I do like.
I am planning on re-reading this; maybe I'll have a better understanding of what actually happened an will be able to leave a more positive review.
