You made me cry

Nice and sad story.

I liked it. )

Everybody may have to die, but the deaths of some will always hurt more. And something about a few personal items being all a person can leave behind; the only legacy, the emotions they inspired, the memories someone else will hold on to, rings true in this narrative.

The unspoken depths of any relationship are hard to capture, for an author, even the filmmakers who created the characters in the first place.

With these characters in particular, everything becomes so much harder, because of the very nature of who they are, and this successful depiction of them is all the more commendable for that.

A beautiful take on Lee Adama, his place in this setting and what his loss might do to the other individuals involved.

Heartbreaking, from the title itself; but wonderful, truly so.

Beautiful... I loved the idea that he's been keeping a list of all those lost under his watch. Was this supposed to be companion to "Death Surveys Her Domain"? I noticed you mentioned Lee's remembrance book in that one. If not, I hope you can maybe make this a longer story, like... what if he comes back? What if he comes back and Kara has to wrestle with the does-she-tell-him-or-does-she-not thing. Maybe, not able to speak, she simply shows him what she wrote. I really love how you crafted this... and even as a one-shot it's still a new fave.

Beautifully written.

Beautifully, powerfully written, it was so sad. You have captured Kara's character, and Lee's, so well.

“There were a few knick-knacks, amongst them a tiny plastic viper and a tarnished coin. She had no idea what they meant.”

So angsty... yet beautiful. True. Loved how Kara didn’t know everything about Lee - like what the toy and coin meant - made the scene more touching and real. Like she never got to know him as much as they would have, had he not been left behind. The ending was heartbreaking.

That was great, I loved it! I wish you would make this longer than a one-shot, and have lee come back nice and safe.
