Loved this story. Didn't let me sleep.

I read this late last night. I found it to be the epitome of emotion. You literally put the viewers through Helga's emotions, even Arnold at some point.

As much as I despised Rhonda in this I found it entirely realistic and clever how she tormented Helga. It definitely was necessary for this stories twists and plots.

Phoebe wonderfully grew a lot in the story as well as Gerald who never liked Helga. The transitions were amazing.

The explanation on Lila's behavior was genius. I was truthfully confused by it at first and found it illogical(not adding it in the story but on Lila's part) anyway loved the idea! It worked.

Big Bob, dear God...he was worse than usual simply because of that act at the hospital. Vital information that anyone would need to know for family wasn't known. I couldn't believe his neglect and stupidity. Arnold did what any sane person would do, tell off Pataki Bob.

Helga's character was wonderfully written. She definitely went through a lot her last two months and was it worth it! Her transition at one point was "who am I" I always wondered if Helga was confused on who she was. Her bully reputation and her impossible saint acts clash continuosly through the series of HA so it makes you question how can these two unlike things plus her romantic and distant side clash into one? But it turned out nicely. You did that. Without having it too cliche or having an elaborate plan to get them to mesh, it happened naturally.

Lastly I do have a complaint. The wall of fame...I would have loved to seen someone go on there. But I guess it's alright.

The ending with all the ps118 kids saying goodbye to Helga was beautiful. I did wish Rhonda showed up because despite everything they had been through Rhonda and Helga could have been great friends.

The Arnold and Helga scene at the end...noble, sweet, innocent. And it suited nicely for them. They are 9!

The epilogue, I liked having a scene instead of a series of summarized paragraphs. It worked!

Wow, great story. I definitely teared up a few times (like every time Phoebe talked about Helga leaving and choked up herself). Rhonda was so horrible. What a bitch.

Arnold was lovely, although, I have to admit I was a little disappointed in him in the very early chapters. I know Helga's prank went too far, but he's usually able to ignore it. I know it was probably just the thing that really cracked him, but I was still disappointed in him, I was hoping, no matter how horrible Helga was to him, that he would still see beyond that tough exterior and see her gooey-goody center. I'm glad that he did see it in the end. It made my heart speed up when he gave her that little kiss at the end of the last chapter.

Helga, I love. I have always had a special place in my heart for the girl who is so like, and, yet, so different, than me. I love her obsessive crush on Arnold, I love her scowl, I love her fierce protectiveness of Phoebe, I love her sarcasm. I just think she's one of the best characters to come out of modern storytelling, and even though she is just from a cartoon, she's still wonderful. I'm glad that she and Arnold finally got it together, because if anyone deserves to be happy, it's Helga G. Pataki.

Again, wonderful story. I know this was written back in 2005 and you probably don't even come on here anymore, but I just wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed every second of reading it. :)

*wails and gives Helga one of the biggest bear hugs on earth, forcing her to miss her flight*

I agree with Gerald: I know to most people an apology may not seem like much, but for Helga it takes every bone in her body to say it... I mean, she's Helga xD

Anyway... This is the first fic that actually made me crying when I couldn't continue reading it 'cause I'd lost the connection at midnight while I was reading it!

Rhonda was so evil, I felt my blood boiled every time I read the scene when she was planning or doing something bad to Helga. It was almost gave me a heartbreak when Helga lost the bet. And it was so touchy to see Helga cried in front of everyone. Frankly, Arnold was there. Ah, how wonderful life was. XD

At the chapter 'Isn't She Lovely?' I almost cursed Arnold for being so dense. I mean, he said he wanted her to show her nicer side, but when he got it, he thought she was crazy. How dense, my football head! It's so sad when she said, "I'm lovely." It just was! Oh, this fic really had gotten into me.

Well, I was also stunned when Arnold kissed Helga. I giggled so much! Sue my girlish imagination. But anyway, you made it totally awesome in the end. I loved to imagine Arnold, resting his head against the glass, looking her plane took off, whispering those words... That was just... Oh, I'm speechless now, aren't I?

Anyway, it's a very good job. I really liked this. I added it to my favourite! :D
