Why is the dollar sign being used?

J’ai étais très impressionnée par cette histoire, non seulement l’intrigue est géniale mais en plus de cela elle est parfaitement bien écrite. On ne s’ennuie jamais et tous les personnages ont leur importance, aucun détail n’est mis de côté, Harry est tout simplement parfait.

So, i have a few issues with what you are doing, mostly because they are destroying my suspension of disbelief.
The internet in 1996 was nothing like it is now, or even what it was like in 2006. The odds of the dursleys even having internet access at their home is ridiculous. to quote wikipedia: "The share of households with internet access in the United Kingdom grew from 9 percent in 1998 to 93 percent in 2019."
Google was launched in 1998.
Wikipedia was launched in 2001.
Online shopping started in 1991, and there is no way you would be able to order heavy metals in such vast quantities, and have them delivered in any reasonable timeframe (ie a month), much less a day.

besides that and some other small things, great job, the story looks great! (i would go back and make sure speech is marked as such, you dropped the parseltongue "SSS" after like two chapters)

It's really interesting. but what bothered me was that you made it like galleons were dollars, When in actuality a galleon is worth about thirty dollars each.
