This is good, nice. To see Scott not so perfect, don't get me wrong I adore Scott, but this humanised him. Do hope there is more coming

Good chapter. Are you continuing?

For some reason I never discovered this part of the Commitment story (one of my favourites of all time, by the way!) before and have just sat and read it all in one go.

Please, please, that can't be the end. I want to see Adelaide get comeuppance, I want to see Scott finally get his hands on Daniel and I want to see Jeff and Grandma's reactions to the whole thing!

I love snarky John and p'd-off-and-worried-about-Scott Virgil and I adore the fact that Tin-Tin and Alan have a secret communications system up on Five. They'd better make sure it's properly switched off when John goes back up there again!

Love commitment and love this story too. Are you planning on updating this? I'd be really interested to see where this goes. I'm adding it to me story alert list just in case. Thank you for taking the time to write these stories and sharing them with us - I like the way you show the characters.

Its officaly, you've gotten me addicted to this stuff. I started reading 'Tales of a Grandmother', then I read 'Commitment' and now I'm onto the next part 'Possessions' Please update before I go bonkers, I need to know what happens -pretty please with a cherry on top?-

I am so glad I took the time to read this. Somehow I managed to mis it completely! Never mind, I've read it now and I love it. The chapters all hold such imagination, and the way you descibe the characters is amazing.

It is written with heart and it shows.

Hey hey Marg, sorry it's taken so long to read your fic and may I say I'm am still loving this totally. I'm starting to feel sorry for poor old Mark and I can see his eyes blaze at the lovely Adelaide and handsome Scott. I'd feel the same if I was him, seeing Scott in all his glory and having the bond with Jeff that he does, this story is ALL about family and he's caught between unloving parents and an unloving woman, nasty. And now he has those last few mintues to have to think about how your life really wasn't what you want and how maybe it was time to 'close his eyes' so to speak - OH my God gripping, tender stuff Marg, I love it! And John - yippee, god I love that boy and now he's taken charge, theres a side of him that we're yet to see - the leader!

Keep up the amazing work - I think your are one of the best authors on this frikkin site!

Wow, another amazing chapter MJC! I feel very sorry for Mark, and I didn't think it was possible to hate Adelaide even more, but there you are! Once again you've raised the bar in how horrible and wicked that woman can be!

I hope you're proud of this fic, as you have every right to be. The characterisations are believable within the context of the story and events you are writing. The standard of writing is fantastic. The sense of Mark drifting through his memories was briliantly juxtaposed with the urgency in rescuing him.

And I love that Virgil and John aren't seeing eye-to-eye on the rescue as well; you get the sense that Virgil is used to Scott being the one giving orders, and John doesn't have that experience and trust yet.

What I love about your stories is that you can take a character (not just one of the main ones) and give them a complete and believable history so we feel as if we know them and all that they have endured to become the people they are. Mark Washington is no exception and this chapter left me feeling so sorry for him and his family background. So different to the warm loving home that the Tracy boys grew up in. Well done and I eagerly await the next chapter.

The plot thickens... So, if Mark's not the father, that only leaves one other, doesn't it? I liked the way that you showed Mark’s vulnerability in this chapter and how devastating Adelaide's manipulative skills in action can be.

I actually feel quite sorry for Mark. His upbringing works as a brilliant contrast to the way the Tracy sons have been brought up. Still with that same wealth and privilege but two entirely different results. It shows how the influence of a father's love can affect a man. Ultimately Jeff Tracy loved his sons in a different way to James and, though they've both had tough lives, it was that father's love that made the results so different. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that; yes, both families have had it tough(sometimes of their own making) and yes, both James and Jeff have made mistakes in the past but James allowed himself (and his son) to be consumed by money and prestige. I'm not saying the Tracy sons weren't at all influenced by the money around them (that would be a little naive) but I am saying that they learned the how to appreciate it, more than Mark. You did a really good job of bringing that parallel out and exposing it in subtle terms.

Virgil and John’s ‘discussion’ was a prime example of experience butting heads with procedure but wonderfully handle, though I would’ve liked to hear more. I’m holding out for the repercussions. John’s under such a vast amount of pressure, I’m still eager to know just what else is on his mind at the minute. And I wonder if Virgil and Gordon will ever find out that he heard their conversation earlier.

Still loved the line about the credit card destroying the business - that was great! This is a story you love to write and that came across, particularly in those last few words. The power and passion they portray leaves the reader demanding more. Well done, Marg, another fabulous chapter; role on chapter Eight. Don’t stop, don’t ever stop.

What a fantastic chapter, the best Posessions chapter yet. How sorry can anyone feel for that many people? Yet you spread the heart-tugging angst round them all, I feel so sorry for Scott, John, Grandma, and Tin Tin (as you remind us of events in Commitment).

Poor John trying to live up to his big brother (and not helped very much by his brothers!). I did feel that Virgil's opinion that the entire operation rested on him was rather an egotistical thought for him, although a fairly valid point based on some episodes from the show!

I loved the misunderstanding between Grandma and Kyrano, about which Father and Son she was refering to, as it could have gone either way. Absolutely brilliant piece of writing (well, it all is, as usual!)

Scott gets some stellar advice in this episode, and seems to be coming to his senses at last! And 'that Washington woman' had better watch out- Grandma's on the warpath! And we know from your other stories, once Grandma starts something she never lets it go, never gives up! Can't wait to see what's going to happen. And of course, what's going to happen with the rescue - excellent cliffhanger ending.

I'm extremely flattered you wished to include my character; Margo Marin as an integral part of this story. I'm glad you enjoy writing about the love Scott has developed for her and how he envisions their future together. I'm thrilled to see her character has won over some fans, including you. It is quite an honour.

The rescue scene is well written and laced with not only tension regarding the time sensitivity of getting to survivors, but the tension amongst the Tracy brothers as well. John can shine brilliantly when given the chance and it's wonderful to see him take firm hold of the reins as the scenes play out.

Josie and Kyrano; truly the foundation of the Tracy clan and that is strongly depicted here. Kyrano, the epitome of trust, knowing more of what Jeff is going through re: Daniel and Scott and knowing he can not break that trust to Josie. That is strength and loyalty.

Josie's strength is her belief in her family and it's always a pleasure to read how she whips up some fancy spin doctoring to get everyone back on track. I'm wondering what she has up her sleeve, and I'm sure it'll be well worth waiting for.

Scott has painted himself into a tight corner. I've always felt Tin-Tin would be the perfect confidant for him during the few moments he does not turn to Virgil. She may be so much younger, but her worldliness and sophistication gives her an older soul. She'll gently prod Scott in the right direction, taking care not to add more to his emotional wounds.

I'm looking forward to the outcome of this drama. Is Daniel Scott's or not? How will Jeff cope with what was done regarding the contract and what happens in the future? Where do Scott and Margo go from here? Does he tell her and put her through emotional turmoil, though he's not sure the child is his? Does he wait and play it out until he knows one way or the other?

It's a tough call and the ball is completely in his court. Scott will have to trust the deep love Margo holds for him however, everyone does have a breaking point. The question is, how strong is Margo's?

As for the rescue; John rocks!

I'm so pleased you've updated this. It really makes a change to see John taking on the role as field-commander and trying to do the job to his utmost best.

The scenes with Grandma and Kyrano were very good as they talked about the family problem. I liked the way Scott has turned to Tin Tin for advice with his worries and she's answered him honestly. I hope the new lady in his life still cares for him if and when she finds out about Daniel.

Another awesome chapter, mjc, totally awesome. The arguement between Jeff and Scott is so fantastically well-written, that I feel sorry for both of them, especially Scott, even though his judgement is out of touch. And I know I don't often get to say this, but I feel really sorry for Alan too - it's not very fair to keep him up in TB5 for half the year when Tin-Tin's gotta look after his kids! Trust Virgil to be right about what's going on in his familys' heads, as always - that guy needs to sit Scott and Jeff down and explain a few things to them about themselves! It's a miracle the family's still together! Brilliant story, can't wait for more!
