Umm, the style isn't really anne-ish, and they didn't have Nintendo or Super Mario Brothers before world war 1. Other than that, cool!

This was a pleasure to read. It really did capture the book while skillfully and carefully bringing it into a modern light. I loved the descriptions of Anne and her roommates at Patty's Place; you seemed to embellish twenty-first century college life with the "little somethings" from years past, creating a warm and friendly setting (Anne and Diana sipping hot cocoa while on the phone together, the girls all gathered in the living room, reading while the fireplace burned). It reminded me of one of the reasons I love the original story - the way it presents the simplicities of life. Wonderful job!

God, you have a REAL talent. I read the whole story in one evening and I'm enchanted by it!

It's really the Anne and Gil of 21th century

I read your author note and was shocked that you had to "convince" some people modern Anne was okay. I personally LOVE your interpretation. It keeps the essence, and the very soul of Anne of Green Gables within it, at it's core, but it also makes it modern and refreshing (with Kelly, Will, etc.). Your talent and skill as showed in this story are so great that I find myself slipping away from the modern era, and then you bring me right back by mentioning a cell phone or jeans. Keep writing, for the world would be a lonely, dull place indeed without stories as good as yours.

Thanks for your awesome story, I read it from start to finish. You are good at pacing the story and the modern setting really helped bring out that ultimate yearn factor of young love! (I found all the sorority stuff interspersed quite amusing). Loved all the references to the actual Anne books of course. Like any true fan of Anne, I was truly tickled everytime something I recognised came up. Even the really obscure touches like Claire Hallet, and the twist on the silver heart. Some excellent creative additions too that really added to the story, like Marilla's pearls. Your characters also "speak" and I wanted to know more about them.

planes? cell phones? computers? is that really necessary? you had me until you started to make it more modernized ...
