AB-maybecrazy chapter 1 . 12/19/2018 That is such a great brotherly bonding scene. And I like that for once Don is the one who needs comfort and Charlie is there for him. Plus it is in my opinion a well underestimated topic, for there are not many people who actively get help for themselves like Don did. Really great work! |
wotumba1 chapter 1 . 1/24/2018 good |
LeonoraChris chapter 1 . 4/25/2016 It's a little strange that Charlie seemed to be a little too okay and too soon after getting hurt the way he did, but other than that, this was really good if painful, although with a good and sweet ending. I liked it. :) |
Guest chapter 1 . 11/24/2015 Ten years later, your story still hits home. Wonderful writing! |

Cutter12 chapter 1 . 1/2/2012 Good story, chocked full of ANGST, enough to bring tears to this reader. And, enough comfort to have me feeling - everything is going to be allright. |

Writer With Sprite chapter 1 . 7/31/2011 this is really well-written. thank you for writing this. I really think it probably should have happened at some point in the television show. I liked that Don is finally getting help. w2g. |
AiyanaStone chapter 1 . 7/12/2010 This is an amazing story. I had to reread it, then realized I hadn't reviewed. It has everything I like in a Numb3rs fic; angst, brotherly bonding, more angst. Great writing! Cheers! Aiyana |
chymom chapter 1 . 2/22/2010 This is a great what if story! I can see Don taking a stand and doing what he feels he can so that Charlie will not be hurt anymore by himself or any one else. Thanks for sharing this with us. |
Thata Martins chapter 1 . 1/8/2010 Beautiful fanfic. I've cried a little again. You're killing me with those histories. I just watched the fifth season, but I love this TV show, and I'm surprise to see how many good histories are about it. Congrats on the amazing fic. I love it! |
blueblackangel chapter 1 . 11/15/2009 Aww! This was so awesome! I loved it! |
EmptySky chapter 1 . 5/7/2009 I admit that I usually am a little hesitant to read one-shots, because from my own experience they either weren’t good enough in my eyes or pointless because there was nothing substantial at all. This one, I enjoyed reading and gave me hope for the world of one-shots. I can honestly say it’s been the best I’ve read in a while. I still remember seeing that particular episode on TV, and I did wonder what would have happened if Don hadn’t been feeling that well, or way too much to drink. On the show they were pretty comfy there, and getting closer as brothers, but this is quite the opposite at first. Thank God I never really had to deal with a drunk before, at least not in that way, because Don really does say some pretty hurtful things there. On the show, I think Don drinks too much. Pretty much a beer in almost every episode, but anyway… I can’t imagine which pain must have been worse for Charlie, the one from falling off his bike, or that from Don hurting him to the core. It was so well written that I could empathically think myself into Charlie’s situation and sort of suffered with him there. Well written was also the scene where Don comes to his senses again and takes care of Charlie, afraid to hurt him again and shocked about what he’s done, about how far he’s gone. Even though the scene where Don has to choose between the two possibilities of what to do with his alcohol, I personally enjoyed reading it and found it great. The struggle came through, and I’m glad he made the right decision by calling the hotline and pouring all the booze away. The “I want to stop line” hit home here. And then, Charlie taking care of Don and promising him to be there for him every step along the way to get better, to get help and support, that made my heart melt ) I’m a sucker for those scenes. Thanks for writing this story there! |
