That pretty much sums up the feelings of anyone who watched that episode and figured out what a skunk Aizen was.

"It was not love."? Hitsugaya is fooling himself if he truly believes that. His reaction to what happened to Hinomori proves that even if he can't admit it.

*SQUEE*. I don't care if I'm over a year late in finding this; it doesn't make me any less happy. The prose is so very beautiful and paints such a vivid image of the scene. Love, love, LOVE it. Histugaya is a wonderful character (haha, yes, I'm also part of the Hitsu-harem...), and you did such a marvelous job writing an angsty version of him. Thank you for sharing this with us, and I'm only sorry I didn't find it much sooner!

This was good - very good! I like how you kept saying, "It's *not* love," but kept hinting at things. I think it's the undertones that make a story good, not the "Oh, make sweet love to me! Take me now I never want to blah blah blah," scenes that are overdone in fanfics (and original stories). Not that I don't read those, anyway...

It kind of makes me think of how, when kids are little, they're always like, "I DON'T like this person, I'll throw rocks at them!" or something, trying to deny it... Of course, I've probably totally botched up your point behind the story. So, sorry.

Might I suggest something? (Sorry, sorry.) Some of the parenthetical expressions you used might look better out of the parenthesis, or italicized. Just something I noticed. I know they're suppossed (spelling?) to be kind of outside of the story, but they're like, "BAM! OUTSIDE, B*H!" right now... Eheh...

Ooh, I was like, "HOLY CRACKERS!" at the end of 170 when Aizen OWNS Hitsugaya without using his own Ban Kai (or what we've seen of it, at any rate...). I mean, he wouldn't kill off TWO main-character !KID! captains (well, they're really like at least a century old, but you get the idea...) in two chapters, right? Then they get Unohana in... Wanna know a secret? (You: No.) I want Hitsugaya and Hinamori to live happily in a house together, of course, but I think now that we know Unohana's got them, Hitsugaya should live, but they couldn't save Hinamori. Then there would be angst, angst, and more angst while Hitsugaya goes absolutely berserk and blows some major s**t up with a new, never-before-seen level of his Ban Kai... Er, or something. I'm sure Sensei will keep us happy with the manga how he wants.
