The ending made me cry.

HnG spans until Hikaru's about 16-ish, anyway, so since he's 11 at the start, the series should technically span until 2003. You're good!

I loved this! Great twist- I didn't see it coming, despite the foreshadowing.

Man, this is like the Sixth Sense. Punch to the gut! The second time through, it all makes sense. I've never read a story where Hikaru dies, and I'm honestly wrecked at the thought of it. What's Touya going to do without his eternal rival?!
