Aw... The Neji-Hinata dynamic is one of my favorites in Naruto, and you capture it so touchingly here. A poignant look at the moment that their interaction changed. I really like your take on the characters, and you contrast them very well against each other. Amazing work!

You win points for using two of my favorite characters...and for making me cry. A lot. And as I've had my butt kicked by more fellow kung-fu students than I care to remember in unsupervised fights, that's really really hard to do. You have written a story that is beautiful in it's own little...(insert word that is a mix of heartstopping, sickly, and sad here)... way.

I haven't really read this topic covered like this in a fanfic before, and you portray Hinata and Neiji's relationship at a confusing and brutal point very well.

That's so sad! Reading it made me want to cry...Hinata seems so innocent in it!

And so we see the making of our Neji. How he turns away from Hinata and the Clan, retreats into stiff formality. It's a fitting shield, I would think, in an aristocratic family. (Even though he was 4 years old at the time, the thought still makes me swoony. I adore a stiff, rigid, closed-off Neji!) Great job, Chevira! Your writing is just beautiful and I look forward to more from you!

I love this. I love it because it allows those who look to see what it is. Not that that made any sense whatsoever, but then, it's 2:14 am as I write.

I very much like how you have portrayed the turning of Neji into the cold hater of the Main House. Hinata's reaction is so... little Hinata, so soft and hurt. Her lack of comprehension is endearing.

You really know how to use just the right words in just the right places. Some of my favorite examples:

"[...] his glasses of sake, all in a perfect row that defied logic."

"But then she told herself that this was her Neji-niisan, and maybe there was simply something wrong with him, and maybe all she had to do was hold him close like a favorite toy, and maybe he’d be Neji-niisan again."

"When he spoke, his words reminded Hinata of frost over a pond in the winter, cold to touch, but easily fractured."

And, of course: "And so Hinata huddled on the roof and wondered why Neji-niisan was broken, and how she could fix him."

So beautiful... I am overcome with emotion (and exhaustion). If you ever stop writing, I will eat your soul. Or maybe beg at your feet.

Christ, why do you always have to make me cry? It's not nice. But then, I love the Neji/Hinata family relationship because it became strained. Damn it.

Cute! Are they chibis? Now I got a lots of pictures of chibi Hinata comforting chibi Neji. How cute!
