This is so cute! I love it so much! What an adorable tradition - and I love that each bracelet coincides with each hobbit's actions. Sam's, though, was so profound. One of the best lines ever out of that whole trilogy was: "I can't carry It for you, but I can carry you." It nearly brings me to tears every time, and this little snippet adds a richness to it.

Oh, lovely story! And nice job on the characterizations, too. The hobbits are interested enough in the bracelets to forget themselves a little; their curiousity about "Elf-magic" is almost childlike, and it's very sweet. I also love how Legolas seems to be so much older than they are as he explains what he is doing. Wonderful work.

That was a wonderful ficlet :) Characterisations (as ever) were on top form. I especially loved the hobbits as they were gifted, one by one, with a bracelet, and all that the bracelets meant was conveyed beautifully.

Great job of fashioning a story around the different qualities of an Elven bracelet-and having Legolas give the appropriate bracelet to the respective hobbit to represent their actions.

Very nicely done! The childlike wonder of the hobbits and the infinite kindness of the elf are what makes this story for me.

Legolas is sometimes an enigma to me...a being so fair, so beautiful, and so kind, yet also able to mete out death so quickly.
