Noxy the Proxy chapter 16 . 3/22
Mason was fishy from the F start...Just sayin. Great story. I enjoyed it.
AB-maybecrazy chapter 16 . 12/15/2018
Normalcy is a state of mind and heroics is in the eyes of the beholder...

I have no words to express how impressed I am by your story!
The plot was amazing, the twists were unpredictable and surprising till the very end ... I loved it and I couldn’t stop reading till it was finished (which took a while :D )
Gianna di Fiori chapter 16 . 1/28/2016

Cutter12 chapter 16 . 6/26/2012
Unique story. You had alot of interesting twists & turns in this one.
epalladino chapter 16 . 3/7/2009
This was a really gripping story from beginning to end. I loved the way you developed the characters. The plot was completely plausible and the way you worked it out generally made sense.

However, there were places where there were some confusing holes in the plot. This was especially noticible in the chapter where Charlie and Don think Alan was killed. They interact with him in the the next chapter with absolutely no surprise that he wasn't actually dead.

The other problem is a gramamtical one. Not only do you have some spelling and grammatical errors, but a good number of your sentences are missing words. Thankfully, this was not enough to make the story unreadable, but there were times when those missing/misspelled words made things a touch confusing.

You certainly have a talent for telling a good story. Get yourself someone to beta the grammar and spelling and your stories would be even better.

P.S. You refer to Charlie as having been a 13-year-old freshman at CalSci. That would have been Princeton University in New Jersey (where he first met Larry). Those years between ages 13 and 16 at Princeton with his mother living with him in New Jersey was one of those past issues that drove a wedge between him and Don.

Even with these quibbles, this was a fascinating read and I love the complicated, yet loving relationship you draw up between Charlie and Don; and between them and Alan.

Thanks, Beth
Timespirt chapter 1 . 11/28/2006
Hi,

Just finished this story and wanted to tell you it was a great story. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I just have 1 little snit about it. You never had a reaction from Charlie about there father showing up and not being the dead guy they saw shot earlier, or even Don's reaction to find his dad alive. After all Don saw his father (or who he thought was his father) killed and then he took a round in the chest and was unconcience until a while after his surgery. Are you going to add that part or leave it as it is. Story doesn't flow right. I thought I was missing a chapter or so.

Thank You

Congratulations on finishing this story. Truly at the very top of the list of "Best " stories here. I really enjoyed it immensely and am so glad I hung in there till the end, although there were times I lost faith in you that you would continue are a wonderful writer and I hope you continue on with your writing. Tanager36 chapter 16 . 11/20/2006
I loved this story, especially the Charlie-in-jail stuff. I'm so glad to see it all come together. I was afraid I would have to file it under one of the great mysteries of the universe!

I know what you mean about finishing a story before posting. I am going through the same thing on another site. I feel horrible about it, but I guess all we can do is our best.

Thanks for finishing this. It was worth the wait!
maurbill chapter 15 . 11/3/2006

Huh? *incoherent mumbling...* Well... you better update sooner is all I've got to say. Got me wondering if Alan is gonna die, if the boys'll get there on time, what the heck a briskit is... Guess I'll have to reread the whole story now. Dang. The things I do for you ... :o/ ;

Yay! Good long, nice story. 3 This was very enjoyable to read straight through and I am quite eager to see how the missing peices of the puzzle fall into place and I really hope that Mason gets his. That sneaky bastard! -O-!

maurbill chapter 14 . 7/24/2006
What a wonderful surprise. I was about to jump with joy when I logged on to Manipulation and found a new chapter. And I might add, as usual, it was a great one and very well written. I am so happy you decided to continue on with this, as I was afraid you decided to give up on it. Sorry to hear about your injury, that certainly does explain you absence from this story. Hope you are feeling better and things improve for you. I will be patiently waiting for the next chapter. I will try to be more patient now that I know you are going to finish it. Take care, feel better and update when you can. Great Job.
