amai-kaminari chapter 1 . 11/14/2006 Once again, beautiful and heartbreaking. I think I am going to have a heart attack if I keep reading your stories! I read the whole story on bated breath. The raw emotion was so heartwrenching that it brought me to tears. Your build up over the fic is so subtle, yet powerful. I could feel Hakkai's building hopes and feel the crushing blow that Gojyo dealt him when he left. |
Minami Arashi chapter 1 . 3/12/2006 I have one word to say: KIREI... That was one of the most beautiful stories I ever read, I cried reading it! I read your other fanfics, too, and it was so... WOW. I like your use of language, and everything is SO well-written. Keep it up! Hope yah write more... -Akashi- |
Lizzie chapter 1 . 1/8/2006 So sad so heartbreaking |
scelerus animus chapter 1 . 7/18/2005 Woah... such a bittersweet story; it almost made me cry and I -never- cry. I suppose I agree in saying there was just something a little off about the characterization, yet still you portrayed Hakkai so beautifully that I can't help but love it. Really, Gojyo does need to have some sense knocked into him, but I think you were right on key, with him not noticing details and Hakkai's feelings and such. But this story was just so lovely in a terribly angsty way. And love the way how you incorporated the whole Hakkai being the 'wife' and Gojyo being the 'husband' into the story. It was excellently done so I applaud you. Wonderful ficcy. o_O |
cawcawmf chapter 1 . 4/16/2005 oh my...i simply love4 this fic...i'll review later or e-mail when i can find the words to describe it |
altered carbon chapter 1 . 2/25/2005 Awesome story! You are a really great writer (I just can't get enough of Hakkai and Gojyo pairings! i'm kind of twisted like that.) I look forward to more stories from you in the future. |
Keruri1222 chapter 1 . 2/18/2005 The only problem I'm probably going to have with this review is that I agree wholeheartedly with what everyone else said about this one-shot so far. So, if I begin to sound terribly unoriginal...please, forgive me. I definitely need to mention your gorgeous useage of language and prose here-Hakkai never sounded so real, and I'm quite shocked after reading it through how you've gotten him to sound flawlessly and utterly like -HIM-. Everything within his thought process seems in-character, from the despair to the longing to the fufillment; a whirlwind of difficult, straining emotions that few authors can pull off so masterfully, especially in a slightly off-kilter person like Hakkai. You've done a great job, though, so give yourself a pat on the back. :) Another thing to mention is about Gojyo's believeable naiviety toward Hakkai's feelings for him...in coincidence to what Strausser has mentioned, Gojyo certainly deserves to be severely whacked with that skillet, making Hakkai, of all people-his best FRIEND, for God's sake-CRY like that. You can imagine how sympathetic I was toward him as this scene unfolded, and it was almost enough to make -me- cry. And finally, I do agree with Maigo-Nothing and permetaform about something being slightly off characterization-wise...but I humbly believe that if any of the Sanzou-ikkou is capable of being the most tenderfoot, (in a good way, I say it, however), it's Hakkai. And love would most assuredly make him feel this way, especially in the case of someone like Gojyo, who so obliviously goes on, flaunting his women conquests for the poor guy to see. I have no qualms about Hakkai's personality here myself, so don't let anything like that get you down. Unfortunately, I've rambled too much, per usual. I truly, TRULY did enjoy this story, though, and hope that I will see more great things from you. This could be the start of another favorite author for me. - -Keruri |
Karu Leonnese chapter 1 . 2/14/2005 Aw, this is amazing! It had meh crying a little. Poor Hakkai...I love the train of thought to this. Brilliantly done! |
Strausser chapter 1 . 2/11/2005 Wow. I think that's all I can say. As a great lover of angst stories, I cried when I read this one. It was written beautifully and Hakkai was very believable. Thank you. It made me want to bang Gojyo upside the head with the skillet and ask him how he could even think about being with anybody else when everything he could want was right before him. You wrote a wonderful, caring and sweet Hakkai that begged to be held. Again, all I can say is wow. |
Lorella chapter 1 . 2/9/2005 This was so cute! Poor Hakkai. I really would like to see what happens the next morning though. If he is right about assuming Gojyo will be gone or not. It may be interesting. One of the better Saiyuki fics I've read actually. Good job. |
addictedtomarbles chapter 1 . 2/7/2005 Once again, another bittersweet story. I love your use of language and you are already one of my favourites. I like the pictures you create and the emotions portrayed. Beautiful |
kanzenhanzai chapter 1 . 2/6/2005 As a story, I thought this was interesting and I enjoyed it. I didn't see it as being in-character, however. |
permetaform chapter 1 . 2/6/2005 this feels slightly off characterization-wise, but there's some absolutely gorgeous lines in here. very nice. ) |
