Please continue this! It's wonderfully written, the characterization is on-point, and the first person narrative really works. I reeeeally reallly wanna know how the story ends.

While I've loved every chapter so far, I was extremely impressed with this one, with the characterization. I think you captured the girls flawlessly. Bravo. Hope you have plans on continuing this story.

Hehehe. I had to laugh when Marco said 'Don't kill us' after a silence, when everyone realized they'd let a chance slip by. Not that they really knew it at the time; in retrospect, it's easy to say 'should have done this, should have done that', but in a situation where you've got other things going on, don't know the whole story and have to make split second decision and still make it out in one piece...well, people just do the best they can.

I have to say, I love the banter between Marco and Ax. It was something not touched on too heavily in the book series, but there were hints that they had their own little snark relationship/in jokes, like the 'your minutes' thing that was ongoing through the whole series. By the time we got to halfway into the series it was easy to see that Ax was often doing it just to annoy Marco. I think you get it just right.

Interesting. My first thought was similar to Ax's...having androids as hosts would mean there was no reason to take humans as hosts. On the other hand, humans still must be better than androids simply because of the humanity...androids might 'see' and 'hear' in a sense, but they wouldn't have sense of smell, or touch, or be able to appreciate some of the things humans do...although it might be debatable that the Yeerk inside of them still can. Hm. That would be an interesting debate.

My second thought was that the androids are not a replacement for human hosts so much as invincible soldiers for some Yeerks to better aid them in taking the rest of the planet.

Loved Ax's monologue to Marco about his favorite soap characters/actresses. I enjoy the whole wide-eyed learning of humanity thing Ax does. And I couldn't help but laugh at 'my weight is appropriate and becoming' lol. That sounded JUST like something Ax would say, and the following retort from Marco sounded just like something HE would say. Good job!

Cruel, very cruel ;) And yet an effective way to enjoy leaving the same cliffhanger multiple times, which is something I've never seen attempted before. You've created a new phenomenon rofl.

I was starting to get worried about Ax and Marco, so glad to see they are ok, even if shaken up. Great cliff hanger! I was about to go to bed but I might have to check out the next chapter to see what it is they are hiding!

I am actually surprised that K.A. Applegate didn't utilize a similar plot in one of the books of the series. It sounds very Visser-like to pull something like this, and I'm enjoying it. I'm also glad that you are alternating character POVs similar to the way the series did, although I would be completely happy with Jake's POV throughout (not that I'm biased or anything, heheheh). But I do enjoy reading the different perspectives of the characters about the same issue, which is something we didn't really get with the books, since they rotated perspectives book by book rather than chapter by chapter (best way for the books, while chapter by chapter works with ff).

Intriguing beginning. I think you've got the characters very in-character. Interesting plot, Visser 3 hiring a bounty hunter, and even more-so they Animorphs figuring it's a distraction.

Please continue or I will be sad.

It's nice that you included that bit with Rachel's school acquaintances. I assume it's setting up a future plot point, but even if not I found it interesting, because the later books in the series were skimpy on how the fight affected the Animorphs' lives as high school students.

Anyway, it's quite a while since you updated, so I do hope that you are continuing this story. It's a really good 'missing adventure' story - you've captured the feeling and spirit of the canon books really well here.

Nice characterization in this chapter: Cassie's hope, Tobias' rat/gerbil metaphor, Marco and Tobias' understanding.

Your Marco is really well voiced, a great blend of humour and strategy. (I liked the lines about moseying, and the fact that you used the phrase "slack-jawed yokel").

What an annoying computer, though. No knock on you, I know it was meant to be. It's like the anti-Marvin.
