Great chapter! I love this story, it's got a great action/adventure/romance feel to it. You're characterization of Kenshin here is great, he's exactly the Bakumatsu hitokiri. I've read a lot of stories where Kenshin is just a jerk, but the way you've made him quiet, reclusive, direct, but still the gentle rurouni on the inside is really refreshing, and very well done. I also really like the exchanges between Kenshin and Kaoru in this chapter. So sweet, I just love it!

I noticed a spelling error ("storey" should just be "story"-it's early on in the chapter, where it talks about the three story building or something, i don't remember the number of stories...) and a few grammar things. Just so you know. :)

wow, this is awesome! You're writing is detailed, but goes at a brisk pace. A winning combination. It gives the reader the option of reading closely and absorbing all the details, or just getting through it to figure out the plot! And your plot is crazy good. I love how you've characterized both Kaoru and Kenshin. Can't wait until they get more acquainted, it should be interesting since she's meeting him as the Battosai :). I would just watch out for some spelling errors.

Is this story based on Samurai X (just a little bit) but instead of Tomoe there's Kaoru? Kenshin is also the battosai.

I always did like him in Samurai X better he's much cooler and sexier.
