This is pretty cute. I almost felt that Aoshi's switch from denial to acceptance was a little fast, but those last two lines were so nice I forgive it. I like that he doesn't tell her he loves her; I think that makes it much easier to believe, in this instance.

That was a great oneshot. I could totally see it happening. Aoshi being the reticient guy that he is and Misao going for what she knows she wants. Good job with this. Keep up the good work!

It's kinda sad that I've had this story on my favourites list for years and I've never reviewed ... I'm suitably ashamed.

I've read this so many times that I can barely remember my first thoughts on it ... I think it's the first - and best - Aoshi/Misao resolution in a oneshot I've ever come across. I like the version on your website better; subtle additions, but they make a world of difference.

Characterisation is spot-on ... the first person narrative can be as limiting as it is freeing, and you've used it very well. Aoshi sounds like himself, in both thought and dialogue, and Misao is incredibly Misao, even though she speaks very little.

Aoshi's reasons for refusing her, initially, are solid, real considerations, not repetitive angst-drenched thoughts - and that is, perhaps, the ultimate success of this fic. The fact that they are *friends*.

It's just ... really good. There's little else for me to say, especially after having read it so many times. Brilliant work.

I love it! It's going on my favorites! It was really well written, unlike so many stories out there. It all pulled together well too. How it was written in first person from Aoshi's POV was awesome. It really nailed it personality.

In short, AWESOME! I love it all. _

Yes, I am a bit of a sucker for sap, especially for those characters who never get enough, but... This is extraordinarily well written. I can believe these characters. I can see this. And that is very nice. Would that everyone- myself included- could realize WAFFy fanfiction as good as you did here. There would be a lot more to read on the net! You did not see to have any spelling or grammar errors, and a wonderful lack of fangurl japanese.
