I don't think I want to redo this story. I've removed some eyesores, but it's as good as it gets for now. I'm proud of this story, and I doubt anyone will look at this, but thanks for reading it and reviewing and favorite-ing it, of course. It's awesome to go back and read over your own notes. this was an absolutely wonderful story, i luved reading it. at first i wasn't planning on reading it because it seemed so long but once i started reading the first chapter, i instantly got hooked. great work! i do wonder though, does he ever become commander?

I sat through the whole night and read finished your story! It's amazing, especially the way you portrayed squall and rinoa's relationships.

You know how in chapter one you siad that you didn't think anyone was going to read this in one day? Well, I just did. Or I guess it's been two days now, 'cause it's past midnight. Wow. This was a really great story. I laughed, I almost cried, and I did a squee everytime Rinoa and Squall got together. Great job. This is very impressive. Now, I think I have to go. Tootles!

Wow, unbelievable story! You managed to capture some of the elements from the game but completely make it your own, and it works because it just seemed so realistic. I'm so proud of this and very impressed as well.

I thought the war would have lasted longer, but still the action was written out nicely. I also loved the romance - my fav. parts of course! Squall did seem a bit different.. but hey, it's your fic!

Oh, very very nice. Well, your writing sure has improved since your first work. I must say, I am impressed. Quite...unexpected for the fighting part to finish so fast, and for Seifer to take his leave so soon. Overall, the dramatic parts weren't depicted as well as they could have, but that's not to say they were bad. Oh no, on the contrary, just that they could use work! It's fixed in your later fics though. And, one more thing you still need to work on. Environment descriptions! _ Anyway, that's my review...proof that I read the whole thing...hope to see you back son~

I loved the sentence structure in this story! It's absolutely fantastic.

But I have a few complaints about the story in general.

First of all, while the sentence structure and grammar are excellent, the naration feels too attached, and when it comes to fight scenes, they're rather brief and skimmed through. We can get a mental image, but only barely.

Another thing is that Squall is out of character. While he's still antisocial like in the game, he would NEVER disobey orders. And even if it was that minimal, he wouldn't really be angry about it. Sure, he'd be training in the Training Center, but he wouldn't be pissed. He would have known the concequences of his actions.

Also, there isn't an exact point of view in this chapter. I thought for a moment that it would have been Cids point of view, but then it suddenly follows Xu. While that's okay in a movie, it sort of feels out-there in a novel or story (if that makes any sense).

Well, i'm off to read the next chapter.
