I liked that super-secret oak whatever part the best. And of course, the starting paragraph. Hilarious. Kiyota's awfully considerate, helpful, nice, etc-unlike Sakuragi-in this story. Jin utterly lacks self-confidence-And hell, Kiyota's gonna tutor him? I can't imagine any other capting asking their junior(s) tutor them! Haha. Anyway, great story.

Kiyota being good in English? Something that I did not expected. I wonder if Sakuragi will be captain after Miyagi. If so, it's going to be funny if Kiyota and Sakuragi are both captain. They are the one who's supposed to calm down team members if there's argument. What will the referee do if it's the captains who got into fight? Heh.

that was freaking awesome. i couldn't stop grinning and laughing. very nice subtle humour. and excellent portrayal of kiyota and jin. loved the interaction. LOVE IT!

Oh, and i just love how the story flows and how the characters interact and such...

Definitely a departure from the Shoyo story, even from Ryonan and Shohoku, but definitely just as entertaining.

The shifting point of views were done seamlessly, and I absolutely adored the light tone of the story. Right from the get-go, the description of Jin hiding in the closet was dryly witty and such a great hook. Things only get better from there; I like how you include a bit of Jin's social life and how he acts around other students (even those that pester him). Kiyota is so in-character it's scary, and his comments are funny and just... Kiyota. I like the contrast between Jin and Kiyota; Kiyota is surrounded by friends and is his typical extrovert self, and you stayed true to Jin's calmness, which was fantastic. The classroom scene leading to Kiyota finding Jin in the oak grove was brilliantly done, and witty as ever, especially with the line "super-secret studying spot." Alliteration AND laughs? Genius.

The homework assignment was a great way for the two to meet, and I love how you showed Jin's inner thoughts and reactions to Kiyota. The two have such clashing and distinctive personalities, and you let them bounce off each other without a hitch, even emphasizing it through lines such as "Jin smiled pleasantly" to "Kiyota sulked unpleasantly." It was interesting to see that Kiyota is good at English, yet it fits his character; and as for Jin being godly at physics, well, the guy obviously knows the physics of making three-pointers. Kiyota's opposition to the physics club was also a great laugh. XD

The exchanging of homework and game plays was very befitting, and was really like an exchaning of friendship and leadership positions. Kiyota's comments about the Winter Tournament, which you have made consistent effort to mention in almost all of your Captain's stories, is wonderful and it's nice to see a bit more into what happened at the tournament. I also really liked insight into what Jin wanted to be when he grows up, as well as the truths in Kiyota's world and how he tries to preserve it. And the final words between the two really showed the progress in the relationship between them; even though your final sentence is seemingly simple and contrasting with what the whole fiction was about, it fits, and that's what's most important. Wonderful, wonderful read, and the blend of emotion, nostalgia, and laughs made this story jaw-droppingly good. It really sucks to hear that there's only one last Captain story, but I'm sure you'll do a great job and I'm looking forward to it and all the future works after that.

Wow, that was absolutely brilliant. Like, BRILLIANT. I totally loved it. Kiyota and Jin (from what little I know of him) were very much in character, and the interaction between them is very authentic and believable. The subtle change that the two of them went through in the end was just...awesome.

Seriously, you're amazing. This goes straight to my favourites.

I liked this line a lot: "I have very good peripheral vision," he said loftily.

This is a great story on Kainan! Too bad Maki didn't make an appearance, but that didn't ruin the story. You are a good writer.

You know it's nice to see that Kiyota has a sensible side and is capable of maturity. In truth he can be a good person once looked beyond his loud arrogant nature. The interaction between the two is nice and much lighter than Shoyo's.

And yes no one can compare to Maki and no one should be compared to him. People are different in all aspects.

Sendoh is plain scary huh? Well once focused on the game, he is.
