Im not into KP, but when i was looking for my story in the archives, i came across this one. Its beautiful! And haunting all at the same time. Great effort put into this one!

i hate war, real war..video games, shows and books are wonderful..but humans are lower than the creatures they scoff at. why is war so needed? peace can be obtained, yet never truly as peace must be shared by those that think alike in it and have the same mind. that can never be as everyone has their own individual thoughts. this fic made me sit in silence for a moment, thinking. thank you, it was good...

Great story. Iread this once in my English class. All I could say is that in war courage and gallentry is often display at the personal level and forgotten in the books written afterward.

The Commander should be a Lieutenant (platoon comander) or Captain (Company Commander). The "action" is too low level and personal. Generals normally command a Brigade sized unit or larger.

To answer your question; How do you go back after seeing the horror that is war. The answer is One Day At A Time. I was lucky and have a loving wife who supported me in and out of the hospitals.

War is strange in that it draws authors and film makers like moths to a flame. But moths donot understand a flame until they are burned. That is war. There are the Dead and Survivors. You are one or the other.
