PLEASE consider people's MOTIVATIONS for doing what they do. As well as the logical consequences of their actions.

Year one was a stretch to have them even meet Voldemort. For two people with guns to MISS all vital organs at a distance of less than 4 metres... THAT seems unlikely. One bullet and he'd be dead. Pulling the trigger a few extra times in rapid successoon would be the norm too, and ensure he stayed down. No burning would get the chance to happen.

I guarantee you that your version of Harry will change the events of the book. He doesn't think or act the way he would in Canon, which WILL change what happens in the fanfic.

Like getting a lawer and refuse to participare in the Triwizard Tournament.

Because -let's face it- if you COULD enter someone ELSE into a Magical Contract WITHOUT their permission, every dishonest politician would have enslaved the rest of the ministry, and Voldemort would have made the entire world his slaves by now.

Year two... Honestly? Harry would be pulled out of school. Snape WOULD inform their fathers. He cares to much to not do so, and would act as an ass to save them regardless of begging.

At most I can see their fathers calling in some kind of Animal Control. AND get dumbledore fired for allowing the school to stay open. Lucius would jump at the chance to get him fired. The old man has ALOT of enemies that wants to bring him down.

But it will be interesting to see what you choose to do with it. I haven't gotten there yet. Lol. So we'll see.

He sure as hell wouldn't be dumb enough to fight a basilisk or fail to realize dumbledore MUST have known about it AND where the chamber is tho.

That aside, your story is bloody brilliant! Keep writing it!

This is actually going to be a problem. Keep the important book events, like the Stone and the Basilisk. But don't pretend a mafia Harry would walk around having the same events happening to him that untrained and malnourished Harry had.

So let me get this straight. Harry follows character for the lions share of the chapters, controlling his emotions and taking care to restrain himself in public where others are watching. But, and this is a big but, when you need Filtch to blame him for something he conveniently starts a fight and gets caught with his wand out? When some canon plot event needs to happen he breaks character and chooses that particular moment to finally confront Draco? I love this story, 80 percent of it at least. It's these chapters though that slightly spoil the experience...

I noticed something. You call Harry’s owl a “raptor owl”. All owls, falcons, hawks, & eagles are called raptors because they are birds of prey. Way back I had a friend who was a falconer. I have flown a red tailed hawk from my fist.
