Absolutely incredible . . . !

You have the characters down. Everything each character does fits in with what their personality would definitely be like. I love the beginning lines, the opening paragraphs. How it transitions to a heartwarming little scene in a shop. I love how Paine initially blows off the idea of buying the little toy, but afterward storms back to get it before shoving into Rikku's arms.

The little "mystery" was a very nice touch to the story. While I guessed what had happened, the little flashback was the perfect way to fill in all the gaps. And then, Paine going back for the toy, followed by the closing paragraphs, make this story into a truly awesome oneshot.

Your writing skills are fantastic! Your grammar and spelling are near perfect! And your use of figurative and descriptive language throughout the story is beautiful. The emotions described have depth to them, and the way Paine reads other characters' emotions, and the descriptions of what she sees, really gives the reader an amazing picture of what all is going on. The humor is subtle and sweet, the drama is intense and powerful, and the romance is utterly outstanding.

A triumph! A true masterpiece! Thank-you for writing such a story!

I love it, I really do. It honestly made me cry at one point. Lately I've been emotional over everything that's fictional, but still XD You really got me. Poor Rikku. At least Paine came around in the end.

I have a fascination with this pairing, and it's nice to see that not only am I not alone in my love for it, there are great stories out there like this one _
