Reviews for The Mind of a Killer
Smile chapter 1 . 2/19/2019
Amazing :-)
I like this view that Battosai is a part of kenshin himself not something else and remain that way because that is his personality. And the perspective of kauro and others that is his wrong. I think just Tomoe, saito,Hiko, completely understand kenshin and then Katsura.
Thanks for share
Amazing :-)
FullMentalPanic chapter 1 . 11/28/2011
Realistic and actually kind of poetic too. "There is no we, only I." I liked this, it's true and you get it across pithily. You do a great job on endings and concluding lines and this fic is no exception.
that one chicken chapter 1 . 7/6/2010
Stunning insight into Kenshin's thoughts; do love. I've never believed that Kenshin and 'Battousai' are two separate entities, so I thoroughly enjoyed this different take compared to many other authors' views.
Sezony chapter 1 . 10/21/2008
I love how you wrote this.. it always annoyed me when I would read stories were Kenshin and Battousai were different like different people, or like a split personality. It seems like people that write stories like that act like they aren't the same person and sometimes it just ruins the story for me.

Great job I think it's a good way to show people how they're supposed to be :)
CrystalMind chapter 1 . 9/15/2006
Absolutely beautiful.

For pnce, an author rebukes the idea that Kenshin has a kind of split-personality thing going for him. He doesn't. This oneshot puts into words my belief of Kenshin's mind.

Thank You.
TrisakAminawn chapter 1 . 8/2/2006
Indeed. I wonder who he is talking to...but it does bother me so much when people behave as though he's an MPD case. Fictional MPD cases can be fun, and real ones are fascinating as study, but they're both sad, and they aren't Himura. Bwah.
Warg chapter 1 . 5/28/2006
This is AWESOME!

Simple, tempered, and perfect... my thoughts on the hitokiri exactly..

The draw of the fic is the simple logic he uses to bare "killing" .. it also makes for a detailed look into Kenshin...

Great work :)
Khrysalis chapter 1 . 5/19/2006
Explaining his point through dancing was very brilliant. Dancing is not only readily understood, but often applied to life itself in philosophy again and again.

It is a poignant little peek into his mind, an appeal to understand, but, as I read through again with a slight smile, it can also be a very subtle lecture to writers.
one chapter 1 . 3/21/2006
don't think you'll actually answer my reviews...most fanfiction authors when they get good don't even have their main email address as their fanfiction one. All I want to say is, I've always felt terrible that people treated kenshin and battousai as separate. How that must have ached. This isn't just some analysis...this is BEAUTIFUL.
LewiG chapter 1 . 12/24/2005
amazing analysis.
Birdie Ruskin chapter 1 . 8/12/2005
This is so interesting. And you know what is funny about it is while I was reading it I was also listening to a Weiss Kreuz song called Tokyo Sling which, conveniently fitted with the story.

Well, anyway, great story or 500-worder.
sueb262 chapter 1 . 5/18/2005
Now, THIS this view of Kenshin's two "sides" is something believable. The "split-personality" thing just doesn't appeal to me, and provides little room for real conflict. This, however, allows for a wealth of contrast, complexity, and development. Great work!
Katie chapter 1 . 4/25/2005
Finally! A story where Kenshin isn't portrayed with split personalities. When I watched the series I did not get the impression of split personalitie, so imagine my surprise when I found the fandom flooded with those types of stories. This story gives an excelent explanation of how Battousai and Kenshin are the same mind. I really, really like this story!
WolfDaughter chapter 1 . 4/8/2005
Now how did I manage to miss this fic before? ::shakes head:: Shame on me! This is a wonderfully insightful look into Kenshin's mind. I tend to get annoyed at fics where Battosai is portrayed as a bloodthirsty murderer and/or some separate entity sharing Kenshin's body. This is more like how I think of Kenshin and Battosai, because even as deadly hitokiri, Kenshin had compassion. They really are one. Though, granted, sometimes I think Kenshin himself doesn't realize that.
Kizmet chapter 1 . 4/5/2005
Very nice, so much better than the split personality Battosai/Rurouni theory. Your story reflects what's seen in the OVA's, as an assassin Kenshin wasn't insane or hungry for death, he was still Kenshin (if anything he was more withdrawn and shy before he started wandering).
