Second last line - "For the most part, the Court of the Rouge". It's Rogue, so you want to correct that typo. Reading it was like a jarring, discordant note in the middle of a beautiful, flowing melody. That being said, it's very good writing.

I always thought Pierce portrayed George a little too nicely...though I suppose who kept all things sheathed around Alanna. The feel of the story- family and honest love vs. wealth, the themes of abuse, the way George sent his message- very appropriately Lower City drama!

Really interesting! I like the idea of the story and it was very well written. This is definately a part of the books that really intrigued me. He hides that side of himself from the narrator (Alanna) but I'm really glad you explored it.

I like the big brother theme you have, and it works! I had always assumed that in Tamora Pierce world Rispah is the older one of the two, but I can see it being both ways now.
